Recommended Posts

I been thinking about getting the Lap band for a while now but Iam super scared that something might go wrong .. I am to young to be overweight and I tried working out but after a while and I see no results I stop so I think this will be my better option but still I am scared... What do y'all think I should do any advice .. Like people who had this done was it painful.. From a scale 1 to 10

On a scale from 1 to 10, I'd put it at maybe a 4 or 5. I've had numerous hernia surgeries, my appendix removed, and a c-section. The Lap Band surgery was by the far the easiest of all of them. I had my surgery on Friday and was back to my normal routine by Wednesday.

I don't know. I never had any surgeries so I am pretty scare. But It's something I need to do because I want to be healthy and feel beautiful on the outside like in the inside.

The lap band surgery is simple on the scale of surgeries... I am having a Tummy Tuck in a few weeks and my surgeon said that was way more complicated...

On a scale of 1-10 the pain was a 2 and the discomfort was about a 5 in my case.

I thought it was a 2 as well. I can't believe how smoothly it has gone. I thought about the surgery for two years. Now I wish I would have done it too years ago!!!!

Hi. I was only banded Nov. 8 - was worried too because it is surgery, but easy in and out, and I agree with others - only minor discomfort afterwards. Though I've only lost 12 pounds (20 days), I do feel like a new person. I feel hopeful, in control, and so excited. If you decide to do it, commit to changing your life, eating the right foods et cetera.

good luck!!

I had the iBand surgery on March 16th of this year. It was an easy surgery and I consider it the best thing that I have ever done for myself. Went in had my surgery and went home that day. Pain was tolerable and didn't even have to take the medication they gave me for nausea. I am now down 75 lbs and couldn't be happier. I have given away a lot of my "fat" clothes and have even started buying a few new things to get me through this weight size. I have a trainer who I work out with 5 days a week and she never lets me quit. (She always tells me that she knows where I live and will come find me. lol) I am in love with life now and happier than I have been in a long time. I am enjoying things that I never would try before. I am in control of my life now and I love it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
