How in the world can you tell if you lost or not? Your weight can shift daily.

My weight has stayed the same or gone down. I'm bad and weigh every morning before I start my day.

I stayed the same and I enjoyed my meal. Looking forward to a big loss next week. I think the change in food will help me to start losing again. Merry Christmas everyone!

Just saying if I can track anyone can. Use Mfp or spark people or any of the other apps. You are cheating yourself if you don't track.

I disagree. I know myself very well and tracking ANYTHING is not for me. To say I'm cheating myself is more judgmental than encouraging. I admit I'm new; 6 weeks post op, but I have been successful; 34lbs down. Remember this is a personal journey for all of us and just because it works for u does not mean it works for us all

I think what hely is saying is that tracking is a proven way to not mindlessly eat. This is a problem that a lot of obese ppl have.

If your journey should take a turn or come to a halt, don't rule it out completely. It can help!

Congrats on your wl so far!

Sorry you misunderstood my post. For starters. I was agreeing about how hard it is to track. I have never been successful before I really started to focus on my journey and i learned about the apps online that make it so easy. People who track their food lose twice the amount than people who don't. Also by tracking you can better stay on top of what foods work better than others. For example yogurts and liquids do not keep me satisfied. I know this from tracking and reviewing .

Best of luck

I love MFP especially since I can use my iPhone to scan the UPC symbol from my food to track. Makes it so much easier!

Love the scanner too!

Let me show a little of my age, buying a little booklet and having to look up everything, write it down and figure all the Calories,Sugar &Fat. In those days they didn't care about Protein. Wonder I got fat on that diet!lol

Love MFP

Yes I agree and I know... Tracking can only help. I guess to explain it better its more of a personality flaw for me than anything else. I could never remember to take my pill on time- now I have twins, I have to set multiple alarms (including my bf) to remind myself to take my meds daily, I realized the other day I haven't taken my MV in over a week. I'm a scatterbrained mess really. For me what I eat has never been as much of a problem as how much. I don't eat sugar, fast food, or overly processed food. I don't like much meat and I dont drink soda. I'm very aware of what I'm eating daily, right now it's not much because I can't yet eat all the veggies I'm used to and craving. The one thing I miss most since being banded is sparkling water-I know I'm living on the wild side over here! I'm not disagreeing with u abt tracking, I watched my mother lose 80lbs and keep it off 20 years with a lot of tracking. I'm also not ruling tracking out of my future. But right now, it's not for me.

See how you overcame with your babies by setting the alarms? Just think of something maybe an alarm maybe something else to help you track. It will really help you so much in the log run. It is not a personality flaw. You will feel better about yourself and your future!

Picture journal. BandedWendy took pics of everything she ate and drank in the day with her phone. It's a good way to go back and look at what you ate if your wl stalls and there's no writing involved!

I lost about 2 pounds...but then again I did get a .2cc fill the day before Thanksgiving and spend the day surrounded by food and was only able to eat about 4 bites. Oh well...I'll have lots of other Thanksgivings.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
