Hey, everyone! As you find your way here, please tell us a little bit about yourself...whatever you want. My surgery date is December 6th, the day after my 46th birthday! What a gift! My surgery will be in Little Rock, Arkansas and my surgeon is not requiring me to do a pre-op diet since my BMI is just below 40. However, I have started making strides in the right direction: I joined My Fitness Pal (MFP), started logging my food, I'm walking 45 minutes a day, I have increased my Water consumption, and I'm trying to make better (not perfect) food choices. I have also discovered www.ShrinkYourself.com and I have begun the very in-depth work of learning about the emotional reasons that I eat and how to change that. I have purchased Jean McMillan's books, Bandwagon and Bandwagon Cookery and I can't put them down. This week I will be putting together my post-op survival kit. Oh, and I'm getting a new puppy 5 days before surgery! Tell us about you!

IM Holly mom of a 12 mo old baby girl Mckenli. Hubby is in the Navy. Surgery will be in Jacksonville Florida. Technically my bmi is just under 40 but my surgeon is having me on a 2 week pre op diet. It sucks! I have been praying about this surgery and researching and talking with my surgeon for over 3 years. When i first started out i only had a bmi of like 30. Now look where i am. A baby and a few years of marriage didnt do my weight too good.

Im very excited and determined and motivated. Im excited to start getting together my post op foods and survival stuff. I know it will be a tough road.

Did i mention my husband and i are closing on our new house a few days after surgery. What a crazy December for me!!

Cant wait to hear everyones stories!

P.S.

Im not sure if there is a huge difference but i am getting the REALIZE band, not the actual lap band. But i think they are the same?

Pebbagirl: thanks so much for starting this group. I think you mentioned the shrinkyourself website on another post last month, and i bought the book - thanks so much for the recommendation.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
