I agree. I can't fathom eating junk food anymore. It taste aweful to me. It makes me feel terrible if I try to eat it. I'm happy to say no to drugs lol

I didn't, but I sure ate a lot less than ever before and I wrote it all down. I will make up for the extra calories over the next few days. It's all about taking ownership for what I eat.

Thank you young grasshopper! I am FINALLY learning how to work with my band after over two years...

My standard line now is "If I eat it, I own it". No more making excuses, just owning it all. I am not perfect and the honeymoon is WAAAAYYYY over. On the good news front though, I lost a little over 5 pounds in October and I am now at my lowest post surgery weight ever!

candy (or food) is not bad. please make sure you realize that. that is diet thinking.

overeating any food (esp those with high fat, empty calories etc) is what is bad..

so you ate candy

so you ate alot or more than you think you should have. so what.

do better now--today...

so in short, each of us needs to be responsible for ourselves.....

quit blaming the candy or the food or the (band) although some things do happen but most of the time, its the persons doing..

do what you were advised to do with this band

eating good healthy foods

exercising

doing your dr follow ups

you owe to ONLY YOU to take care of yourself.

is that food, candy, snack really worth it??

Yes, eating a little bit of chocolate WAS worth it...I never blamed the candy or the holiday or any such thing. I enjoyed every moment of it! It doesn't make me feel any better or worse to have made MY choice to eat the candy. Pardon me for taking offense at your response, but I never asked for anyone to approve MY decision. My nutritionist, surgeon and bariatric internist did not tell me I couldn't eat candy ever again. I am VERY realistic about my eating and exercise plans and don't need to feel guilty about choosing to eat a little candy. I've been working at this band thing for over two years so I can say with some experience, there is no "cheating", there are no "good or bad" foods, and last of all, I AM NOT ON A DIET!

Wow, Wow, Wow! Good going. You have exactly the right way of expressing it. No more excuses because nobody forces us to eat stuff we shouldn't. If we back step, get over it and move on. Tomorrow IS a new day. Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
