First of all, did your dr say you could eat regular food after getting a fill? I know most drs say to wait 24 hrs on full liquids before trying food. Some are even longer. And it took me until my 3rd fill (4 mths into it) until I felt any difference at all. For the future tho, sometimes you can feel the restriciton right away, sometimes it takes up to 10 days to feel any difference. No clue why.

You have to be patient. Unless your one of maybe 1,000 bandsters, you're not gunna feel any difference for a few fills. Good luck!

Had my first fill today in London -- doc put in 2cc and said for me to go straight to eating normaly -- said for me to just eat right and chew well, I have noticed a small amount of restriction - but had a blended Soup to be on safe side.

Lost over 32lbs now :)

Hey Steve, I was wondering how things were going. You don't post very often.

Congratulations on the wl!

Thanks maddysgram, I know I don't post often - been so busy, I am a man of little words but will try and interact more on here.

By the way - I have only had two slime sticks and no p b"s is this normal?

a couple of things - sometimes it can take a couple of weeks to feel the effect of a fill, plus it usually takes several fills before you start to feel them and reap the benefits. This means you must just continue to be patient at this stage. Good Luck.

Steve paul smith - congratulations on having no PBs (not sure what slime sticks are?) Basically means that you are chewing well enough, taking small enough bites and eating slowly enough. Keep up the good work and you should have no problems.

Hi sage Tracey, I described my episodes as slime sticks because it is how it feels - its probably when I got food stuck through not chewing or eating to fast buty body reacts by over salivating - but thicker than normal - it is not nice as there is pain - but I found by sipping cuppa tea or walking around helped ease

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
