For those of you who were self-pay with True Results... do you mind sharing how much you paid? I'm in a situation where I've met my deductible for 2012' date=' but waiting for insurance approval will give me a surgery date of February - facing my 2013 deductible. Now I'm having to decide whether to self-pay or wait it out & possibly end up paying more.[/quote']

Because I had a hiatal hernia I am paying $5500, if I wouldn't have has the hernia it would have been 9900

Thanks, I'm thinking mine will be around the same (hiatal hernia, as well). If my deductible was met and insurance had approved already, it would be $1360ish. Knowing that i'll have to meet the deductible again, beginning in January, I think it will be well over $5500... ugh, such a dilemma.

The biggest benefit of self-pay is not having to wait. 2 wk pre-op diet & surgery done. However, do you think we need that extended period of time to mentally prepare for this? Just talking out loud a little, lol. :)

Wow that is a big jump if you don't meet your deductible cut off time. No I didn't need to mentally prepare because I was already mentally depressed from being fat so this was super exciting. Now the first week I was like wth did I just do cuz I was in so much pain but I'm happy now. Last night I was trying on my clothes that I bought last year when I lost weight on HCG n it felt sooooo good!!!!

Hi all, I'm a newbie as well, I had my lap band on Thursday 11/15 and so far so good. Still a little sore but up and about. Did anyone not feel like eating for those first few days just because you felt blah?

Thanks

Surgery scheduled in San Antonio jan 25th! Pending that I have a hiatal hernia. Egd is scheduled for December 27th. I've never wanted something wrong with my health so bad! Such a weird feeling! Lol

Got my date... 12/12/12. Nervous, excited.. nervous. I go from one emotion to the other. Am I doing the right thing? I can't wait until I can wear normal clothes again. Am I taking the easy way out? This is going to be a lot of work!! No way is it the EASY way out. I just go back and forth and I have these internal battles on an hourly basis, LOL. It doesn't help that my support system (almost every freaking one of them) is playing "Devil's Advocate". I probably sound crazy, I promise I'm not. I think I'm just a little anxious.

Yes. It ended up just making financial sense! Especially since I had the hernia, as well.

That's terrific to hear, Bekah. I just love coming to LapBandTalk... hearing everyone say how well they are doing and that they are 100% glad they had the surgery calms my nerves.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
