Hang in there, it will all be worth it. Remember, this is a temporary phase of the entire journey and not something you are faced with for life. You will get through this and look back to wonder why it seemed so hard at the time.

You can do this. Remember the big picture.

I suggest you have your shake before fixing your kids meals, that way you are not hungry as you cook. Plus drink lots of Water while you cook.

You will make it through this phase, it is only temporary.

Good luck.

I went thru the same thing. But you have to stick it out. It's worth it. I cooked the kids favorite meals. They were not always my favorite. That helped. I also cooked just enough for them. I sat at the table with them and drank my shake so they still felt like we were having a family dinner.< /p>

The firs 2 weeks after i got banded was super hard for the same reason. Then I realized that maybe its time to change all of our eating habits. If its not healthy for me, its not healthy for my children. I don't want them to face the same overweight emotional rollercoaster I faced almost my whole life. Think of it as a new chapter for your whole family.

I an not to the point that you are. I have to do 6 months diet over saw by my dr first. I have done one day on just liquids to see if I could and it was hard. I am going to do a few more just to prove to myself that I can do it over the next 5 months.

I know its hard but you can do it. So many on here have been right where you are and they did. They are not superwomen or superman either but they did it. So can you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
