Well, I am home.. feeling a bit miserable but nothing to compare of the pain I thought I'd be in. I know it's only the first day lol. Breathing in my nose out my mouth has helped a lot. I feel the gas in my tummy, back and shoulder but it's not unbearable.. at times i moan out.. ****.. or gosh damn.. but thats about it. My surgeon was awesome and they said everything went very great!! They also repaired the hiatal hernia. Hard to sip Water, because I get so bloated and uncomfortable when I take a few sips.. my tummy is very soar and get occasional pains.. All normal ?? I am waiting for another 40mins to take some more meds! When I fall asleep I dont feel a thing till I wake up. Thank you all for having faith in us.. you all have been such a help and inspiration and knowing we have all of you on this journey today is amazing in itself. <3 ya guys!....... ( ouch ) lol .. pain pain go awaay!

Had surgery at 8 and was home by 11am. eep! also btw.. I walk as often as I can.. but it feels like it makes the pain worse..? any suggestions. Damn burps won't come out! grrrrr !

Pic.. on my way to a better happier lifestyle. The cap was to big as you can see.. I laughed when I saw this pic!

I had same problem with feeling from drinking Water. Dr said that's from swelling and it should be better in 48 hrs.

Bandwagon Jean was telling me today to drink 1oz every 15 min.

It will get better!

Tomorrow I hope to do way better with that.. ughhhhh.. my stomach really hurts. I was given hydrocodone but it seems to work a little. I don't know.

Yay congrats!! I was banded December 2010. I took the slow route with smaller fills so I could get used to the changes as they come. Words of advice, trial and error, and hind sight:

-everyone's band is different

-everyone has different intolerances

-cant compare fills or loss of weight

-eat slowly and savor

-chew well and small bites...

-even if you can eat bigger just practice

-think of this as a slow journey

-don't get impatient with slow loss

-listen to your body to know if:

-you need filled or unfilled

-make sure you keep Protein up

-take it easy on self this month

-embrace your social settings over the food itself...you will need this later

-food may work one day and not the next...many reasons

-don't talk and eat at same time

-don't wait to exercise a year later...I did and I should have started sooner but I didn't want to

-have good relationship with surgeon, I love my Dr.Hanosh excellent bedside manner and listens to me.

-drink drink drink don't get dehydrated when you are a busy.

-water helps Constipation and digestion

Hope this is something that might help. I've got 20 pounds to go and would have only changed a couple of things...but I have enjoyed the journey.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
