Any One Else Feel Dizzy?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I'm 6 days post op, and starting to feel human again. My incision sites are pain free, port site Minimal pain, minimal nausea, and not very hungry. I am however feeling very dizzy, the worst is if I have been laying down on couch and get up to walk around. Any body else have this dizziness? Any thing I should be doing to prevent or minimize it? Thanks in advance

Kat

Dizziness, in my experience, is caused by low blood pressure or low blood sugar. Do you have a history of high blood pressure or diebeties? If you do, I would deffinately talk to your primary physician. Any meds your on may need to be eliminated or reduced. I know your only 6 days post-op, but your drastic change in diet could be having an effect. My blood sugar got to low while on meds for it that I passed out. Not good of course. I would look into it. Take Care!

It could also be a sign of dehydration. Are you getting in all of your liquids?

I did have dizziness.. but mine started to go away around where you're at.. I had several days where if I walked too much - or stood too quick- it happened.. I'd say normal

I had same dizziness, and still sometimes get it, when I get up, but only when I don't drink enough. It is dehydration as Gigi_Girl said. Just make sure you drink enough.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
