Are you back on solids?

I think I started back to eating my special k around 1.5-2 months out. I went to my nutritinist last week and told her I was eating special k for Breakfast with 1% milk, she said that was fine. During the week I have to be at work so early I don't have time for eggs. Protien shakes for some reason give me indigestion, so I eat my cereal, I just CHEW!! On the weekends I eat a scrambled or over easy egg.

I would vote against cereal high in carbs and low in Protein. If you must have cereal something like a high protein Kashi Go Lean would be a good choice. I do add about 1/2 cup aforementioned cereal to a Greek yogurt for Breakfast (with half a scoop protein powder).

agree that the Kashi brand is the BEST way to go and they now have several different types of cerals to choose from; lots of Fiber and decent amounts of protein; I add Unjury to mine to get in extra Protein.< /p>

I add a little hi fiber hi Protein cereal to my yogurt. I don't like Greek yogurt, I eat Fiber One lite peach. Only 50 calories and great with a little crunchy cereal in it.

I eat Greek yogurt with bare naked fit vanilla almond granola. It is wonderful.

I do, every day. I dont eat processed things like corn flakes, special K etc. But I do eat either oatmeal, this awesome "Power Porrij" that has grains like quinoa and amaranthe in it or home made toasted granola (full of seeds and nuts) for Breakfast every single day.

I like my cereal with some yogurt and fruit.< /p>

My surgeon advised that to have cereal, it needs to be high fiber and Protein, and you would need to drink the milk first...I can't tolerate yogurt.

Somehow soggy cereal is not appealing to me...but I do miss my favorite granola.

I just wanted to add to this. When I make a salad, I throw in Fiber One cereal. I love croutons but of course there is no nutrition in them. When you add the Fiber One, you are still getting that "crunch" and once you add a little dressing you swear you were eating croutons anyway.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
