Link To Website For Loads Of Info!

I was just reading this surgeon's site and while it contains promo's for his Clinic, the information was spot on about:

When to fill/unfill

Band slippage

What "restriction" is and isn't

etc.

Here's a link to those of you who don't know how to tell if you need a fill.

http://drsimpson.net/fills/How-to-know-if-you-need-lap-band-fill/How-to-know-if-you-need-lap-band-fill.htm

Fish around his page and you'd be surprised how much you could learn! I did.

Excellent info. I hope others read it too!

I'm hoping the newbies, or even those who don't remember (like me on some issues) will check out his site because he really spells things out so clearly. And I see so much misinformation floating around here on LBT. It could help so many...

I was talking about this with my dietitian this AM. She says, it's a fact that people only retain 30% of info given to them.

This is a great source to go over.

Plus, LBT.com fills in a lot too.

Wanted to add that it is very beneficial and detailed. I have referred to the site a few times since Oct.

Since my silly brain can only hold so much, I too refer to that website on a fairly regular basis.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
