i did it and i have to share with my LBT friends

most of you know that my knees hurt so bad and that my legs were not strong and it made walking

(any distance) difficult if not impossible. i stopped going to stores or anywhere with my hub

because i just couldnt...i was in that bad of a situation

so june 6 was my saving grace day

and little by little, as the weight came off, and inches (went to wherever elvis is)

i was able to start walking.....

so tonight, i asked hub to go for a walk with me and i walked a block and a half

it may not be alot or much right now, but its a start...

i want to be able to push my granddaughter around the block in her stroller.

and i will do that..

thanks for reading if you did.

WAY TO GO !!! you have to start somewhere ! you'll get stronger every week and before you know it you'll be walking a block and a half with out even thinking about it. 10 months a go when i was banded i weighed 225 lbs, so i started swimming 3x a week and walking 1x a week. i kept it up, got stronger, lost 57 lbs (so far !) and strted with a running group this week . ( ran 2 miles today !!) you can do this ! one day at a time ! good luck !

Every step is a good step. I also have bad knees and weighted 291 pounds. Walking 1 mile was a chore. 2 months later, I am walking 3 miles without difficulty.

One step at a time and before you know it you will be running after your granddaughter! Keep up the great work.

Congratulations!!

And that is exactly how you'll get stronger. When I was banded, I needed a handicapped parking pass just to make it to the front of a store. Once inside I needed a motorized shopping cart to get around. Now, I am walking about 2 miles a day with ease. I am able to take my son to the zoo and chaperon my daughter's band festivals.

When I first started walking I think I went about a block, maybe less. Over time I just gradually pushed myself little by little until finally it was no longer a painful battle but a true enjoyment.

You're totally rocking this :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
