Just A Bad Day...

Recommended Posts

So today I can eat absolutely anything I want to, I even eat a tortilla which I can never do. This may sound crazy but I honestly think something may be wrong here, it just doesn't feel right??!!!

The band isn't supposed to stop you from eating anything. It's not supposed to keep you from eating certain foods nor is it supposed to physically stop you from eating more than a cup. So, don't base how well the band is or isn't working based on that. The band is supposed to help you to be satiated on less food for longer periods of time.

Over time with weight loss, the band gets looser, thus requiring additional fills. It's entirely possible you're noticing a difference in the band because of weight loss and your stomach shrinking.

Ask yourself: Are you satisfied on a cup or less of food for at least 4 hours? Satisfied meaning no longer physically hungry. (it has nothing to do with the inability to eat more, btw) If yes, then your band is right where it should be. If no, then you likely need another fill.

I have never been able to eat bread or tortillas, anything warmed up or left overs, forget about it, some other things as well, maybe you are one of the very lucky ones.

as missy said, the band wont stop you from eating anything (its up to us as to what to eat)

the band just makes eat less. so if you feel you didnt do good today, do better tomorrow.

i hope i am one of the lucky ones myself.

Wake up and start new tomorrow, maybe it's time for a fill. Keep your eye on the prize just because u can eat it doesn't mean u should. Stop yourself and start over tomorrow! Good luck! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
