I started out doing research on Youtube. Look for names newtoy4kt, bandedwendy, abandarina and some others. These are good points of reference, especially for successes! From what I can tell on here, people are very helpful and knowledgeable so far. Have you introduced yourself in the introductions section?

Im so nervous & excited at the same time!

Hi! I turned 20 in June and got my Lapband on August 13th. I felt exactly the same! Nervous and excited and slightly overwhelmed! But what helped me the most was reading forums on this site/app and watching YouTube videos of successful banders :) the people on YouTube that the person above me listed are definitely great to watch! Watching their videos and Actually seeing the process and their success is very encouraging! I am no where near as far along in the process as those youtubers but I, too, have a channel all about my journey so far with Lapband if you're interested ;) here's the link to one of my first videos:

I hope I could help a little bit! If you have any more questions about anything you can totally ask me and hopefully I can be helpful lol!

Good luck with your surgery!

Thanks girls! I haven't even thought of watching YouTube videos! How much weight have u lost since being banded in August?

Good luck!! It is hard work.... remember that the band is a tool and you still have to work hard and limit what you take in! :)

I've lost 25 pounds since I was banded in August :)

omg one more day for you! good luck!!

be sure to update me how the surgery went and how you're feeling. I will be anxiously awaiting your reply :)

Nope, still doing the supervised diet and exercise required by my insurance. Have 2 mos. left before I can submit a claim for approval and so I am super curious to see how your experience goes to kind of compare it to how mine will be or prepare myself! If everything plays out okay I will be approved end of November/December.

Yeah I had to do that for six months & it took them like 7 weeks to approve it. So hopefully yours goes fast! I will keep u updated

Who is your insurance through?
