Newbie Here. I've Got Through My Requirements For Insurance But I'm Worried Because Its Medicaid.

Today I had my psych evaluation, met with a dietitians, and seen the physiologist. Now I'm playing the waiting game. I don't have regular insurance because my job doesn't offer it. I'm worried they are going to deny me. Anyone else gone through this stress?

Hi Karie,

In the search box above, type in "does medicaid pay for lap band". There are a bunch of forum discussions that have taken place on this topic. Although I do not have any information that I can share on that topic, I think you will find lots of other people who have experienced getting banded through medicaid. If nothing else, you'll learn a lot about the ways people were granted approval and some of the hoops they had to go through to get there. Hopefully, you'll get approved based on your personal medical situation meeting their requirements. Good luck! Wish I had more direct info to share.

That's good to hear thanks. I've tried looking up their requirements and what they say qualifies. But I have a couple friends that have them as insurance and one got approved with in three days and the other who was way over qualified it took almost a year. I looked over their list of comorbities and I qualify according to it but I guess its all up to who's reading my chart.

How can someone apply for Medicare ...?
