  • Hi Everyone... went back to work yesterday (desk job) after being banded on Friday 10/12. Surgical sites didn't bother me much the first few days but by Monday, the gas began to give me some shoulder

It is prescribed by the dr. It's called Zofran. It works really well.

Thanks

Had my upper endoscopy done yesterday and walked out of the procedure with my gastro's permission for surgery. Had my last surgical consult last night so I am all set for my surgery next Friday. Have not received approval for the surgery from Aetna yet but the surgeon's office swears they will have it in time and that I've done all I can do.

Lost 21.5 pounds in the first pre-surg diet week. One week to go!

You have done amazing! 21 in a week! Wow. I hope they approve you!

Ok folks, who's a little concerned about getting enough fluids, calories in the first few days post OP? I am a little. After my final visit with the nutritionist it just hit me that it might be a little tricky at first.

How did those of you who have done this do post OP? Any suggestions?

Hi :) I'm have my band fitted on Oct 9th 2012 with Dr chris de bruyne in Belgium. I live in the uk. I'm leaving for Belgium on the 8th by Eurostar so not long to go now !

I agree. NO GAS! NO GAS! Good luck to you too. Are you nervous? I am getting a little nervous. But' date=' I am more excited about my new life.[/quote']

Yes, I'm getting nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time. I can't believe it's almost here. I feel like I've been waiting forever for this. Can't wait for the much needed change, I'm sure you feel the same way. Less than 48 hrs away......yay!

Don't leave me out guys!!!!!! I'm at 9 am!!!! Please check on me as I will check on you guys

What day is you surgery?

Day 2 of pre op diet. Probably tmi but the shakes are giving me a lot of smelly gas...lol

1 day post op. Ended up having to spend the night because my surgery got delayed by 3 hours, but, all in all, it wasn't a bad thing. Got some much needed rest & so far the pain has been tolerable. Thank God for pain pills, gas-x & heating pads.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm two days post op now and feeling good. My surgery was Thursday at 11:30 I left the hospital about 5. Yesterday I slept most if the day just taking in water as I felt nauseous. After getting medicine for nausea I feel so much better today. I have gotten in an Optifast and some chicken broth. I have pain when getting from sitting other than that the pain is not bad at a all. I have not taken pain meds since last night. So just wanted to update so new people heading in to surgery will know its not bad at all. The way I feel now I feel I'll be fine to go work on Monday;)

Good luck banders hope your surgery goes well!

Glad to hear you're doing well love.

So happy to hear you are doing well. Keep us posted.

Im having an issue, im day 6 pre op and have done what im supposed to I think, but my morning meds are causing me trouble (my everyday count is 5 pills am and 7 pm pills) . When I take my morning meds I am supposed to eat with them. Im finding that even immediately after a shake or soup, I am nauseaous and end up expelling them. Im also worried about after the surgery, isn't it going to be almost impossible to get them down?

Is there anyone else who has dealt with anything like this?

October 9 I have less than 2 days gettin nervous. I kinda cheated one day on my liquid diet hope it doesn't affect my surgery

I cheated on mine once wasn't to bad tho and they let us eat whatever we wanted the night before my surgery so I don't think you have anything to worry about good luck on your surgery I just had surgery on the 3rd

I am scheduled October 12, have been on the pre-op diet since Friday and got really sick with a migraine today. I had a small portion of chicken and it made me feel better. I've dropped 5lbs since Friday, hoping this doesn't hurt anything by eating today. I have my endoscopy in the morning.
