I had my pre op yesterday and My doctor told me to take an ativan before coming in to surgery with 1 sip of Water because it will HELP anesthesia. How excited was I. He also gave me an ambien for the night before. Love it! Im a bundle of nerves and I'm one week out. I can only imagine how scared I'll be before. Blessings to all having surgery today. We all have our fingers crossed that all will go well and you will wake up pain ( and gas ) free and on your way to a new shot at a better life

Pain will be easily tolerable and short lasting but the gas :-/ that's a whole other story. It just surprised me that the pain meds didn't knock out that discomfort too. Oh and it's not intestinal gas it's cavity gas so shoulders chest back abdomin. Walking and heat really are the only cure!

Shoulder pain was after a few days. I only feel it now when I bend down, it feels like I have a sword inside me trying to poke out from the top of my shoulder. Ouch!

I am home from surgery, no major pain just gas in my stomach but mostly in my shoulders, my husband is making me some heat paks so hopefully it will go away quickly.

Hope everyone is doing well today. Talk to you all later.

Hello Folks,

Had mine done on the 9th. Stayed over night due to the late time of day I ended up having surgery. Came home on Wednesday. I'm doing pretty well. Having a harder time than I thought with remembering to sip very small amounts. It's very uncomfortable when that happens!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I'm just really sore. Hoping that goes away during the next couple of days. Going back to work on Monday.

It seems surreal. It seemed like such a long way to this point, but the time went by pretty quick.

I just want to stay obedient to the diet now so all of this doesn't end up being for nothing. That would really stink! To go through all of this and not lose weight because I don't follow the rules.

Best wishes to everyone!

Day 4 post-op. This is the first day I have felt decent. Hardly any pain and hardly any gas. I am still on full-liquids until my post -op on Tuesday. Hope everyone who had their surgery on Monday are doing well. Yea! We made it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
