I've been following everyone's posts and I hope to have some free time this weekend to reply to some. What a great thread this has been. If I created an October 2012 bandster "group" on here would you all want to join? Might be a better way to keep tabs on everyone and bring up individual issues without them getting lost here. My surgery is Monday, I've only lost 12 lbs on Optifast so far. A little discouraged. I wrote more about it on my blog http://thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com/2012/10/counting-down-biggest-loser.html

Had my upper endoscopy done yesterday and walked out of the procedure with my gastro's permission for surgery. Had my last surgical consult last night so I am all set for my surgery next Friday. Have not received approval for the surgery from Aetna yet but the surgeon's office swears they will have it in time and that I've done all I can do.

Lost 21.5 pounds in the first pre-surg diet week. One week to go!

I'm definitely feeling a lot better not as hungry. And yes very tired of the shakes. I had to go find another brand & flavor just to change things up a bit. Wow you got your time already? That's good. I have to call late this afternoon to get my time. I can't believe it's almost Monday. We just have to get thru this weekend. It sucks that you have a late time' date=' hopefully it won't be too much later than that. I think we will be so anxious & excited that the not eating/drinking after midnite won't be so bothersome. At least I hope so. Yay, 3 more days!! And our new journey will begin. Our life is gonna change for the better. Good luck to you too <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

I'm scheduled for 8:30am on Monday.

Feel better love. Have you tried heat packs. And are you taking your gas-x strips?

Felt good yesterday, last night was hard (the bed was very uncomfortable and I like to sleep on my side which I coudn't). But I feel pretty good today, walking around, trying to get rid of any gas and also, trying to eat. I can't tell if I'm hungry or having gas pains it's odd.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
