Somebody Slap Me!!

For I have sinned...

While waiting in the drive thru at Sonic for my Sundae I decided to splurge and get a small order of chili-cheese fries. I can't eat fries what in the heck made me think I could eat chili-cheese fries. I haven't gotten sick, but I would almost pray to at this point, I feel almost stuck.

Even 7 months out and almost 90lbs down to stray is human I guess. So Newbies don't feel bad!

(and before anyone points out, I know I shouldn't have been there for the Sundae either, but I have to reward myself occasionally).

I think just about everyone here is guilty of doing that. Every now and then I get a chicken sandwich or something, and normally I take the bread off, but sometimes darnit, I want the whole sandwich experience, so I take a big ol' bite, bread and all, and usually end up throwing the rest of it away because I certainly can't eat anything after that!!

First this -- Wha? Were you nuts, girl?? :)

Then this -- Remember, you asked for it! :)

Now this -- I hope you don't have any problems from this. Don't let it trip you up. Get right up and keep on keepin' on.

Heh, it made me grin. :) It's great to know that we have so much to look forward to! :)

And since you asked for it, lol, /slap! I'll throw in the hug tomorrow (assuming you make it to Jason's & aren't on liquids! :)).

Carrie... LOL I am not laughing at you... I am with you. Oh have I been there! I am so glad I am not perfect and I'm good company with those that still make mistakes!

I guess you will stick to those sundae's instead of the fries! LOL

We have loads of fast food places where I live, but the only Sonic is in Boise and I'm not about to drive 20 miles or so to go there. I don't like anything spicy so I wouldn't want chili fries anyway. The post was too funny. Hey, you can reward yourself with a sundae, but you got two rewards...now I ask you IS THAT FAIR?:)

I too have sinned. I dont even have my first fill yet and i stopped for a chicken sandwich the other day. i knew better than to get fries though. after 2 small bites that i chewed very well, i thought i was going to have to pull over and throw up. i have learned my lesson as I slapped my own hand.

I just have to put blinders on as I drive by the fast food joints and remember the dreaded PB's that I have heard about but not experienced yet.

OMG, when I was on liquids and mushies, what goes down easier than a Sonic Blast, over 500 calories, I was only having one a day, which was only because I only passed it once a day, LMAO. I do treat myself to a simple Sonic ice cream cone every now and then.

Consider yourself slapped and today's a new day, I love talking rough, LOL.

Looks like you've had enough slaps.

Thank God the closest Sonic is at least an hour away from me. (not that I wouldn't drive there to get a great slush, or a smoothie, hell those chili cheese fries sound great............OH NO I'VE GONE INSANE!)

The best advice is if you fall off a horse, pick yourself back up and get back on. Hopefully you can tolerate food and not have to go back to liquids or something.

Good Luck

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
