Do U Ever Ask Yourself Why

Recommended Posts

I'm having a moment where I'm asking myself how did I ever let myself go like this. Why would I? I don't have any psychological reason of why I'm fat. I just love food. Its so yummy. If doritos tasted like lettuce... I wouldn't eat them. Do u ever feel like that

oh all the time, I would beat myself up about it. I am just glad I finally took the steps I needed to do to finally get help! I know people would look at me and say, "how did you ever let yourself get this big". It can happen, I never thought I would be this big, never! When I use to weigh in my 200's I would say I will never get to 250, then when I was 250 I would say I will never get to 300. I really started to weigh over 300 the last year. My body seemed to be comfortable at 280-289 for over 10 years.

Last year in april is when i started to tip the scales sloooowly over 300. I saw 304, than 310 and by October 2011 I weighed in at 367. I also was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in November of 2011 and wondering if that played a big role in that big weight jump. Either way, no more excuses I am sooo done with carrying this load....

I ask myself this all the time... Especially when I see pictures of myself from a few years ago! Do you ever get embarrassed about your "skinnier" pictures? :-/

There are days where it's tough to see closet full of smaller clothes that I use to wear. I try to use that as an incentive!

Yeah I have all my skinny clothes hanging in the closet yet my current fat people clothes are wadded up in drawers. Oh yes... I also have some hooker heels that I can't wait to bust back out!!

Being 25 and overweight is hard. I recently noticed that when I started gaining weight, I distanced myself from friends. All I ever hang out with is my boyfriend and my mom. I hope that after I loose some weight, I will be proud to reconnect with my friends. I am 216 and 5'2. I can't even imagine life under 200 at this point!

I've distanced myself from doing things also because I don't want to be embarrassed if I can't fit into a seat... or if I look around and I'm the fattest in the room. Not to mwntion i have no cute clothes anymore. Hell.. I've already made it clear when I get my grove back... ITS ON!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
