Today's Results Could Halt My Surgery This Month...

Recommended Posts

After having chest pains for 5 weeks now, my primary doctor had me to a nuclear stress test last Thursday. I have not heard the results but hopefully today. I am feeling a bit depressed as I really wanted my journey to begin on the 24th. My family history is nothing but heart disease and I have lost them all due to this disease.

My chest pain is a dull pain all day on left upper portion. My BP is horrible last week at dr. Office 158/100 and dr. Put me on atenanol 50mg. BP is now 120/71 heart rate 61. I feel as though my results could be angina but I hope not as I'm sure my surgery will be postpone if I need stents or etc.

Feeling depressed now as I wait for doctor to call. I have tried to make myself feel better my saying...the doctor didn't call immediately so maybe it's good news....

please try not to worry/fret so until the doctor says to you directly no surgery. the more you worry, the worse you will feel. please please calm down. your journey will start. granted it may or may not get pushed back, but it will happen.

keep positive and keep smiling :)

Thank you...it scares me even more to have the Lapland should heart complications arise during surgery. I have had clients have the stress test, and nothing wrong and two weeks later cardiac arrest and open heart surgery. I know these tests are only so accurate and cannot determine all vessels in need of repair.

Worrying never changes the outcome. Try not to stress, as hard as it is. Thank goodness they're doing this testing now, before they put you under general anesthesia. Thorough is good. I wish you the best of luck, keep us updated.

Hello all,

I got the call finally after being persistent by calling for 4 hours with no answers today regarding my stress test. They said the test went good and found that the blood is flowing properly and pumping good. I told them the pain has gotten worse since the test and its a bit more strong as it woke me up at 1;30 in the morning until 3:00 being uncomfortable. I have an appointment tomorrow to try and see possibly where this pain is originating from though i feel it primarily on my upper left chest almost center. So thanks everyone and I hope to have some more news soon and hope they say its okay to have the surgery as ($12,499.00) is due on the 10th two weeks prior to surgery.

Thanks again for your support

Anyone mention possible hiatal hernia? If you ever had a real problem with it, it feels like a heart attack, very painful.

Good luck!

Have you had an egd

Stupid phone. Have you had the egd yet as part of your testing? I had increasing chest pain which I now believe was caused by my hiatal hernia. Mine was not the common sliding hernia though, it was a large paraesophageal hernia where part of your stomach is sitting up next to and pressing on your esophagus. The movement of food through the narrowing area of the esophagus was sometimes quite painful and being where it's located often felt like it might be heart related... Might be nothing of the sort, but thought I'd ask. If you did have an egd, this would have been found. If not, it might be worth looking into. (I had very little if any reflux.)

Anyway, really hope you can get to the bottom of it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
