Hey all just got home. Everything went well just in a bit of pain. Any advice for pain?

I was sent home without pain meds. liquid Tylenol worked well. I never take tylenol for anything but dr recommended it. Thumbs up to you!

Getting so nervous and its still 3 days until surgery day for me. I keep thinking about how I'm going to allow my self to heal properly with two small children both under the age of 4. I also worry about being one one of those people who have their lap band horror story. Already having trouble sleeping being so anxious with what to expect. Guess I just gotta hold my breath and take the ride!

I'm getting banded on sept. 28th....like everyone' date=' I'm so scared and excited as well, not looking forward to the pain....I just keep telling myself it's all temporary...[/quote']

I just got my band this morning at 9 am went to the mall at 3pm till 7.... Don't let the pain scare you! Just a word of advice... Take your pain med as soon as it says so that it doesn't ware off and you should be fine! The biggest complaint I have is just like everyone,... The gas exiting your body . But if I massage the area a little the pain goes away for a bit! Good luck and try not to psych yourself out!

Can the person bringing you home from the hospital stay with you that day? After that you will be able to manage. Nervous is normal. But at least you are finally doing it. Welcome to the family!:-) In a few weeks you.will have so much more energy for your kids you will look back at this weekend and say "What was I thinking?" Please keep in touch on this app because people are very helpful and encouraging. Everyone is very willing to share their experiences with you. Nothing sounds stupid because they were who you are. People here really do understand whats in your head.

You are a trooper! But you are right about the gas...that was the worst for me. Needed someone to rub or burp me like a baby. That would've helped but I live alone. Gas coming up hurt the most because it wouldn't leave...gas going down hurt while it was moving but it was exiting.

Im getting my surgery Wednesday. Im really nervous. How's u guys do on ur liquid diet before? How long was u on one for?

I had surgery this morning. I was on a 2 week diet with 2 Protein Shakes under 3 carbs and 1 healthy meal of day that consisted of one small Protein and as many green veggies as I wanted. I have to admit I cheated a little but the doctor told me my liver looked perfect! Then post op 48 hrs Clear Liquids and a small cup of broth and a tiny bit of apple juice fills me up! So hang in there and good luck!

I don't know what your eating to cheat but on one day due to lack of planning and a camping trip I ate 3 small Protein meals and on the next day I had a salad with ranch so I think as long as you stick to it as close as you can you should bf fine.... I think what saved me ws I read that a lot of doctors only do a 48 hour liquid diet so I really concentrated on doing good the last 3 days and things went good!

Oh yeah and if you have lost weight your liver should have shrunk. I lost 14 lb and 4% body fat. Hope this helps others as much as other posts really helped me and got me to o day!

I hear on here a lot of people doing the liquid diets and my Dr. Hasn't said anything about me having to to a liquid diet at all. Is this normal or just a preference thing that varies from Dr. To Dr. ?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
