i think faithmd needs to come in and give you her speil ...

guys ... DO NOT EAT if your doctor says liquids only. there are medical reasons (trust me, it's not because your doctor doesnt like you).

Faith says it much better than i can even think but basically you are healing now. the band has to get into place and scar tissue has to form around it to secure it.

trust me, 2 weeks out i didnt even want to look at another Isopure drink, but that's when you call your surgeon to see if anything else can be done. dont ASS-u-me that it would be ok and just go hog wild.

not a good thing.

now - dont beat yourself up over it just dont do it until your MD gives the OK.

You've probably done heard this but this is what my surgeon told me. Do not focus on weightloss whatsoever the first month, it's a healing period. Plus, you have no restriction over than swelling and that doesn't last long. I promise you, I don't know how many fills it will take for you to get restriction but once you do, there is NO way I can overeat. I just can't hold it and don't want it and then you will see the weight fall off. I promise you it will happen. Just be patient and take care of yourself and heal first. Good luck.

Well..... last night I went haywire and had 3 rolls of sushi. I just could not take it!!! This morning I had really runny cream of wheat with Protein and that made me full all the way til lunch time. Funny what Protein can do. Anyways.... that yes I broke my liquid fasting last night!!!!hungry.gif but just for a minute

Not a good idea. You risk future slips and an enlarged pouch if you do that. If you push your band down by putting weight in your pouch before adhesions have a chance to properly form your band will heal too low in your stomach and you'll never have a small enough pouch to lose weight.

Then there is the idea of breaking the adhesions that are forming, the band not setting.......and the list goes on.

Magic i havnt had the band but will not judge you either way, and really no one should! Obviously the concern is your health and what might happen if you eat too much with the band. I first would go see my doctor. :paranoid We have all had or are considering to have the band for a reason and that reason is to loose the weight whether its for health reasons or self of steam you might need to really get in touch with yourself and workout why you got it in the first place. From what i have read its not a magic tool that fixes everything i guess that is why im taking so long to decide if this is the right option for me!. What i plan to do is get the band and then go on a controlled shake diet. Im not sure where you are from but we have a local phamisist that promotes the tony ferguson diet and has dietitions weigh you each week. Even if you can maybe go on weight watchers like someone had already suggested. Mate like i said im not here to judge just help Im no expert and not banded so might be out of place here but im just telling you what i plan to do. After all its such a drastic measure to take, any surgury is, we may as well get the most out of it. My problem is bordem eating! so i plan to take up a hobby to keep me busy as well. Once Ive covered all my floors and loopholes I m hoping i will be ok.

GOOD LUCK to you !! ALL THE BEST:)

Aleluya for restriction for I have none right now. I am going as though I was in a very strict (crash) diet where I go hungry all day and all I eat is Water. I am just waiting patiently for an eventual fill where I will not be so hungry. I'm even thinking about taking an appetite suppresant....

Exactly! The band helps you but you have to go on some program. I am doing shakes all day with lots of ice that serve as my Water intake too. Three shakes a day and praying for the day when my "baggie" gets filled.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
