Hey All :) I was banded on 6/27 and the doc put in 4cc's. I went for my first fill on Monday and they put in half of a cc. Needless to say....ummmm....Im starving...dont think this is gonna cut it...lol. I go back on the 27th...Im assuming to get another fill if this doesnt do the trick, which...its not :( My question is this....on the average.....what is the "cc" that usually does the trick? I know every person is different and tolerates things differently but just courious if there is an "average". Also, Ive been feeling very fustrated because no one has noticed my weight loss....and feel its all for nothing....but I did get some motivation....running into boyfriends ex wife....Hahahaha....

Try to Celebrate your progress yourself...not everyone will notice or will mention you look like you've lost weight. This is a good time to become reliant on yourself for the positive feedback...because in the long run, only you will understand the positive changes your weight loss presents to you.

I reward myself with spa days or a new shirt in my smaller size. If no one who I have not seen in awhile doesn't notice my smaller size, it doesn't matter to me, because I'm making myself happy and healthier. At the end of each day, that's what matters the most to me...

my doctor said that the average is about 5 to 6 cc's people reach their sweet spot, but that is just an average.

It's different for everyone. Actually, I don't even know how much I have in my band at this stage but I believe I will need a very small fill to return me to restriction when I see my surgeon again in November now that I have lost so much weight.

I just got my second fill today which brings me up to 5.5ccs in a 10cc band. I had no restriction at all before this fill. I will be on liquids a few days so I don't know yet if I have restriction but I sure hope so!

banded 7/2/12 and apparently had about 2.5cc at surgery time (didnt even know lol) and two weeks ago i got another 1.5cc so i have about 4cc now. i feel the restriction, but i can still eat more than i should. but it keeps me full for several hours. i have my second fill today. she said it would be about 0.5, but i'm going to try to convince her to give me 1cc. because i think that will give me good restriction.

as for people not noticing... i know exactly how you feel!! i've lost 38 and only people that know about the surgery have commented. i was sooooooo discouraged when no one commented. and it wasn''t until this week that two coworkers commented on the weightloss. it was encouraging. but.... when no one had commented... i had to remind myself that a lot of people dont want to say anything because they feel a little wierd saying "hey, you're losing weight" because they might feel a little ackward bout it... lilke they're saying 'you're fat' by saying you're losing. know what i mean? my best friend told me her BF noticed i'd lost weight but told HER about it... not me. so i'm sure people are noticing, but some are just a little wierd about saying anything. so dont let that discourage you... just be encouraged as you see clothes fitting big!! :)

keep up the great work!

Your fills depend on the type of band you have. My band can only tolerate 5cc's per fill at one fill per month. Some bands can take more and some take less. You eventually can fill your band to the max level for your type but that can cause esophogal corrosion and disease. If the band is too tight nothing can pass through.

i have had 3 fills, i am now at 7cc in a 14cc band, i feel alittle restriction but i always get hungry after 3 to 3/12 hrs after i eat, i tried to drink Water in between meals but its really hard. I go back on Tuesday so we'll see if i've lost any weight, 2 weeks ago i was at 6cc's and gained a pound, i feel that i might need maybe 1/2 cc to get to the green zone...i wonder sometimes if the band is still in place? Anyone else feels the same way?

Do you get fills forever? After goal is met, are fills necessary is probably a better question. A band only holds so much??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
