I don't know why I'm not losing weight, here is what I'm eating I do not know how to count calories and my Dr. didn't gave an specific diet

9:00 a.m. Protein Shake

1:00 p.m. chicken broth w/veggies

5:00 p.m. Chicken Breast w/veggies

10:00 p.m. Soup or ff Jello

I'm eating 3 to 5 oz each time, if you have any comments or suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Thanks :)

are you pre or post op? your profile says pre surgery.

if that is the case, that doesnt matter if you are losing unless they specifically asked you to. i am sorry, you didnt give alot of info on YOU, just what you said you are eating.

sweetie, you should not be worried about losing as you are still recovering from major surgery. my dr had me on 2 weeks liquid after surgery so i am surprised you are eating chicken breast already. but all dr are different.

it will come (the weight loss) just hang in there.

Are you exercising at all too? Also, the Soup you are eating is it high sodium to where you may be retaining Water?

Lastly, I have heard many say to take measurements, sometimes what isn't reflected on the scale shows up in inches. Good luck.

Please use this time as for healing, just as Carolina girl said you are still recovering. I am 9 days post-op and just started mushy stages per instructions of my surgeon because I am having a hard time with my Protein and she is worried I will get sick having no nutrients, but she made it clear my mushy foods are to be very liquidy (no meats) I am drinking plenty of water(about 64 ounces) and gatorade. Gatorade replenishes any loss of fluids, restoring back electrolites. It has the right amounts of sodium, carbs, and potassium. I drink about 12 ounces a day.

Main thing is to follow YOUR surgeon's orders to what your plan is! Don't worry about the weight as it will come off :)

The sample I will need to follow after my surgery is as follows:

Breakfast - 1/4 - 1/2 cup of cottage cheese low fat or yogurt

am snack - 1 cup of Protein Shake with skim milk

lunch - 1/4 - 1/2 cup of cottage cheese low fat or yogurt

pm snack - 1 cup of Protein shake with skim milk

dinner - 1/4 - 1/2 of strained cream Soup or cottage cheese

This is the post op diet with plenty of protein that my doctor gave me and make sure your broth is low sodium. As you can see protein is key, if you try this for one day you will see results.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
