Little Help Here Please

Recommended Posts

Hello all, so i'm a little over a year post op from my surgery. Started at 273, now at 226..so its going. I've found that right after I get fills, it's hard to eat...but after a month or so...I have no problems...meaning I overeat. Anyone else have this problem? Wondering what that happens.

BUT, my main question is,..I had a fill 2 months ago and the band seemed perfect. I was feeling full at the right amounts, could keep food down...all was great. Then over the past week, out of nowhere, I can't keep anything down. I can barely even keep liquid down. I don't feel like there has been any slippage with the band...just seems wieird. Any ideas and has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks

I've never had your problem but it sounds like a possible slip? I've read others speak of this and I hope I'm wrong. Better check in with the doc.

I really don't think it has slipped...don't get me wrong...I can keep some down..a little food, little water...its just far less than normal...and this is way after my last fill.

Better get to the dr and have them double check. I know I have some days I am tighter than others. Plus the weather seems to want to affect it also.

I read the you band can shrink if you are dehydrated. If you can only drink a little Water. You might be. I would go see you doctor.

waiting another week to go the dr (all the while you cant drink or eat) could not only make you severely dehydrated, but could be dangerous with your health. best to go to the dr instead of waiting a week (to lose more weight). just my opinion.

your health is more important than what the number on the scale says.

Tim, as long as you can get liquids in and are not dehydrating yourself...you're ok for now. Stick with Water based Protein Drinks so that you're getting Protein and water in. I'm in a similar situation myself, have been for about a week. I'm not too tight, my band is just playing fickle with ,e right now due to stress, weather pressure...who knows

People keep bringing up protien, whats this all about? I may be nuts...but I don't remember hearing anything about protien. I remember for the first week after surgery I had to have protien...you all still drinking shakes way after surgery?

I am 4 yrs post op and about at the 3 year mark I have that problem also. I get a fill and about 2 months later it seems to tight like you can't eat or drink much or it comes up at that point I go in he removes the fill and I go a month and have it put back in. My dr has checked for slip and nothing so I just go with it.everyone reacts different with the band so I just have mine adjusted accordingly and it works for me. I have been able to lose and maintain well for 4 years by visiting my dr regularly.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
