Those Recently Banded: Whats Ur First Short Term Goal?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to set short term goals, besides my big end goal.

I was banded 7/2. I started at 297 and I have lost 32 pounds (that includes some from Pre-op) and I'm at 265 now.

My short term goal is to lose another 16 pounds and get under 250 by my anniversary mid September so I can wear this fabulous dress that still has the tags on it! And go to a fancy place with my hubby! I haven't been under 250 in years!!! Even when I've dieted before, I couldnt seem to break that number. So that's my next short term goal!

What's urs??

Great job so far!!!

I was banded on 6/27 and as of today have lost 22lbs. My first short term goal is to be under 244 when school starts back up. That was the lowest I have been in a few years and it was right at the end of last summer. I found a good 30 lbs during the school year. THAT won't be happening again this year :) I am at 253 as of this morning so I am pretty sure I will make it!

My short-term goal is to stop eating! LOL! I suck at my diet but I've been able to maintain about a 20lb weight loss since I was banded on May 25th. Everyday is a challenge and I take it one day at a time. I'll be getting a second fill the end of this month.

My first goal is to get under three hundred pounds! I was banded on Wednesday and apparently have already lost 7 lbs (I can't really believe it) so only twelve more pounds to go!

I was banded 6/14 and am down 30. My first goal is 210. That's where i was when I left my old job in law enforcement to become a teacher. My other goal is 190. That is where I was when I dieted and lost weight a few years ago.

I was banbed July 5th & have been a middle school teacher for 5 years ( a mid-life career change). I have gained weight since teaching. I wondered the stress level if law enforcement compares to that of teaching ? I have lost about 14lbs btw!!!

Re-positioned 7/9. First goal is to get back under 300... for good this time.

Then to get back down to 284 by September for a wedding I am going to. That will be 100 pounds lost. Again. For good this time.

I don't really have a short term goal. I was banded on July 12th so I'm still fresh. I'm already down 6 pounds from pre-op diet. So... I think I want to measure my goals in exercise. I want to go from walking to running on an elliptical for 30 minutes. Not real sure where I want to be in a month.

Mine was to wear these yellow pants I have ( size 12 ) when I was on vacation next month. Not going to make it but I think I set my expectations a little high, LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
