Help With Choices For Meals

Recommended Posts

I've had my band for 4 1/2 years and am in a rut. I eat the same breakfast and lunch pretty much everyday. I need some ideas to jazz up my diet. Thanks!

What is it that your currently eating?

Morningstar Farms Protein veggie Protein w/ cottage cheese

tuna or chicken from can w/some light mayo I put on whole grain tortilla or cracker or eat it alone

Romaine lettuce w/ black Beans

Make some home made chili it is a good go tofood.. EASY to make

Grilled chicken or other meats

eggs/egg beaters toss in salsa or I like to add in Morningstar farms products in them. Makes and omlette,

We jazz up Protein shakes w/ Ginger, Kale, banana, and Ice cubes VERY YUMMY.

We occasionally slice up a sweet potato, use a dab of olive oil/spray or with Pam, and kinda mix the sliced potato in it season it up and bake 30 minutes or till done to your liking at 350 degrees (good if your craving fries of some sort)

I mix cottage cheese and black Beans together (but I am a food mixer) you can toss in some meat protein too.

For lunch most days I have a whole wheat sandwich thin with a laughing cow wedge and deli turkey or roast or tuna- less than 200 calories usually. I eat a lot of chicken for supper and a sandwich thin w Peanut Butter and a banana for Breakfast or an egg. Really into these sandwich thins can you tell? Super good and only 40 calories for 1/2 of one. Also do wheat tortillas as wraps sometimes or tacos.

I eat Kay's Protein Cereal w/blueberries for breakfast and most of the time I have a Chobani Yogurt for lunch with almonds. Otherwise, I'll get a small salad w/ egg and feta for protein. dinner is dicey. Sometimes I make chicken or Pasta and meatballs and sometimes I have a 1/4 cup pancake mix with an egg. See why I need ideas?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
