Your title and the content of your post do not seem to go together. Usually the title reflects the content so that people know what they are going to be commenting on.

You do not sound sorry that you have cheated on your diet. It is hard but it is important to stick to it. The Drs didn't devise it for torture, they devised it so that the surgery will be as safe as possible, by cheating you are putting that at risk.

Make sure that you are ready for this. Maybe you are also thinking that you are not overweight enough for surgery and have decided that is sufficient excuse to cheat. If so then it is time for a reality check. If you go into surgery feeling like that then you are likely to fail. In order to make this successful you have to be 100% committed. The band does not make you lose weight. the band only helps you by controlling your hunger. You have to make the good choices, you have to exercise etc.

Please feel free to ask more specific questions as that will make it easier for us to answer .

Wishing you all the best .

I thought this was a support group not one for you to be rude. Im still young and this was my first time. I just got banded on 7/9 and i am committed to this. I was just nervous.

I wasn't being rude,at least I tried to respond to you.Your post did not give enough information to tell what it was that you were trying to ask so I tried to read between the lines. The reason no one else responded is probably because your post confused them too.

I see now that this was posted in the teen section but I didn't realise this at the time as I generally just go through the new topics on the side of the forum. Please tell us a bit more about yourself - that will help people when they try to help you.

Perfectly normal to be nervous( it's a big step) most of us are. Congrats on being banded and welcome to the other side.

What did you weigh before you got your band?

It is okay that you cheated a little as long as you didn't cheat a lot and for days but a bite of popcorn (that was my little cheat) doesn't hurt your surgery! I was banded 3days ago! My starting weight before the diet was 324lbs as of this morning I weigh 304lbs!!! I am so excited it has been a long time since I have been under 300lbs and I am just 4 days away from that.

Please dont take advice as criticism or rudeness, just experience talking:)

Best of luck on your journey! It's hard at first but it's all worth it:)

Hopefully with proper restriction you will be able to stick to a healthier diet. It's not easy to stick to this type of regimen without it, otherwise we wouldn't need the band in the first place. But try hard it's for your own good.

Good luck!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
