I'm day 3 and passing everything now, I used gas x and had my kids burp me by patting my back like a baby! It worked, it will take time to get rid of it all. Onward and Upward!

My doctor gave me medicine for gas guess it took care of it cause I didn't have a problem 3 days post op and I feel great ready to get out and go shopping

You can't belch or expel it because the gas isn't in your digestive system, it was pumped into your abdominal cavity during the surgery. It has to be reabsorbed by your body.

The best thing you can do is walk around to help your body reabsorb it faster. If you're having any pain, sometimes a heating pad helps too.

Walk, walk, walk. Gas-x strips can also help, even with the gas that was put into your abdominal cavity for the surgery.

For me, the heating pad was my best friend. Feel better soon!

Yes, gasx strips, walk and heating pad. I'm only two days post op and my gas is almost gone. I had really bad gas pains too.

i dont find it easy to expell gas through belching either. Gas -x is the main thing that is taken here for gas... also, ive found that sitting with my back straight, head back and arms above (my head) bent with my hands touching the back of my neck stretch my diaphram enough to expel the gas. Try some of these things... everyone is different. Maybe this will help you out.

I had surgery on Monday and most of my "free floating" gas has subsided. I mostly felt it in in my shoulders. It felt like my shoulders were really tense and I couldn't relax them. I've been using a warm shoulder wrap that I put in the microwave for 1 minute. It looks like stuffed animal stole hehe! I also put it on my tummy for a bit. It really helped to relax the muscles.

I had gallbladder removed Saturday and I couldn't pee! Or burp or toot! Walking helped a lot!! Hard, but so worth it. I also took dulcolax sunday night, that helped me go #2 immediately Tuesday morning and it made me feel better, much better.

I haven't burped at all post op. Lots of gass pressure the first week. On day 4 post op, I finally passed gas. I was so excited and the pressure relief felt so great, I texted my husband at work!! Haha!! Hope you feel better!

Currently on day 5 of post op. I had a really hard time expelling stomach gas. For some reason day 3 was the worst. It's easing up now &

getting easier to belch. I can only hope it will all together just go away. If seated, sometimes helps to stand & walk around to "work it loose".

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
