First Fill Two Days Ago

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill Thursday. They had me on liquids till noon on Friday. I have really been tryin to eat but I cannot eat more then about four bites of food.. Is this okay since I just got a fill? Will i be able to eat more in a few days? My doctor told me to eat at least a cup at a time and there is no way I can do that. I feel pretty full on bite 5 and have no desire for food for at least four hours. Also I got "stuck" for the first time today. It was horrible. I thought I was going to calapse and yes it made me sick! :/

Buy papaya enzyme chewables (found at Walmart, GNC, CVS, etc) if you ever have another stick episode, chew two of those. My nurse suggested them & they work wonderfully!

About your fill, maybe your band is too tight, some people like to eat 3-4 bites and be full. I've also read on some posts on here that you'll have restriction for about a week then it will disappear & you'll want another fill. How many cc's do you have in your band?

I had the same problem. My restriction lasted almost 2 months. And I lost almost 10 lbs just in a month and a week. I stuck it out even tho I was slimming almost every meal : / not the greatest thing to do : /

Some people here will think of you as lucky getting that amount of restriction after a fill, it depends on you as to whether u think u are too tight or not, not only does our body have to adjust to fills but our minds do too, i could easily think to carry on as before a fill only to get stuck or feel full so quick after a fill. as long as u can drink liquids and get some food down, then maybe change what food u are eating instead of going back to fast for an unfill.

My doctor says 24 hours full liquid then 24 hours mushies. If you are having solid that could be your problem. I would recommend eating mushys today Saturday and trying solid on Sunday.

I have 1 1/2 cc. My doctor wants me back in three weeks to see if I need another one. Mu doctor told me to do Thursday ( when I got mu fill) liquids. And Friday liquids till noon and then I could have soft food after that. That all went fine even on Friday I ate without a problem even though it wasn't a cup of food. Maybe I'm scared to since that first stuck episode? I have been very good with the foods I eat. I haven't even tried eating any bread or pastas! Since I've heard they get stuck. Honestly that limits food so much! Everything is bread, Pasta, or fried food! I eat a lot of turkey, chicken, cottage cheese, cheese, some nuts, v8 for mu vegetables if I can't get those in. There's more but that's the stuff I usually eat! I need more options it seems like! What does everyone else like to eat? Or do you just eat small amounts of whatever?

U need to get to like eating green veg, it fills u up, increases your metabolism , is cheap and quick to cook and u can chop real small. greek yoghurt 0% fat and fish salmon or smoked salmon is good for Protein, u can eat salads etc, if u do treat yourself to a few bites of Pasta make sure its the whole grain pasta .. just eat nothing that is white or processed u will be fine ..

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
