Texas Support??? Banded 6-12-12

Recommended Posts

I'm in San Antonio. The gas post op pain is akin to feeling like you just woke up and you did 100 sit ups the day before. If you have a lap dog, apologize before surgery because Fido won't have his spot for a few days. (me, my lap dog weighs 80lbs, she looked so sad).

After day 3 it started to get better. I had my surgery on a Thursday and went to work Sunday. I'm a engineer on the railroad so the rocking back and forth on the train 4 days post op wasn't bad.

9 months has passed and I forget I have the band.

This was my first surgery EVER! And it was a breeze!!!! It's like a quick nap! My only complaint w the operation would be the nurse that helped me wake up and get dressed post op. she was very rough and very rude. I had never been put under so I was very out of it! Other than that everything was great!!! Good luck! The best is yet to come!

Yeah I feel so much better I have lost 30 lbs so far I love being able to get full off less food I ate off of a plate of food meatloaf and steamed veggies mushies I'm still eating on it has lasted 3 meals I'm tired of it now I finally threw it away. Not being able to drink while you eat is the hardest thing for me. As soon as my port sight stops hurting I'm going to start my exercise. Food luck to all of the new bandees. I get my first fill on July the 20th I'm exited.

I am in between Houston and Galveston, like Cheri (hi!!! Sorry I missed you and lunch! ).

I've been banded one year now and at a plateau after being over filled. Surgery at True Results Houston with Dr Reilly.

Feel free to email me kittyforet@yahoo.com as I don't get on LBT as much as I'd like. :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
