Some people don't think before they put their mouth in gear.

I remember asking a woman I knew when her baby was due. She said he was born last week. Insert foot here!

People can be really ignorant about the different types of WLS- don't let their uneducated responses take you down.

I have also asked someone I worked with and had not seen in a good year when her baby was due... Needless to say, she was not pregnant and I felt like a real a-s-s-h-o-l-e. She wasn't fat or anything, just had a bigger belly (she had already had three children).

I was once asked if I was preggers and i was not it hurts pretty bad I remember I went home and cried. But it taught me to think before I say so I don t make someones else sad.

Man I hope no one says something like that to me. The day after surgery my mom thought it would be cool to introduce my grandma to the face time app on her iPod. So of course they call me and i am passed out on meds and not feeling good. My grandma promptly gets on to me for being asleep at ten in the morning and says that I'm not going to lose weight laying around. She has always been on my ass but that was pretty extreme.

one day someone will see a friend pushing a stroller going "I DIDNT KNOW YOU HAD A BABY! CONGRATS" and they will approach you and you'll see their dog is in the stroller....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
