Help....i Can't Control Vommitting..

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

So I have been in and out of the hospital since my surgery on 6/5. I can't keep anything down. My doctor says it's saliva. Does anyone have any suggestions so I can keep food down???? Thank you I am feeling very sad at the moment.

I'm very surprised your doctor doesn't want you to come in? Especially if you can't keep anything down. I don't know what to suggest as this doesn't sound right.....I'm guessing you don't have a fill yet (if you did I would suggest getting that removed). Is it nausea? Try some Gravol or ginger tea to help settle your stomach.

Even tiny sips of Water? If not you must see your doc...MANY docs put a couple of ccs in your band during surgery as mine did and yes, I had to have it taken out...if you cannot keep hydrated you need medical help. If you cant eat food, tough it out...you will loosen up.

Yes insist the doctor see you! Some doctors put fill in during the surgery and people need to have them remove the liquid via the port.

There is pretty significant swelling of the stomach after surgery so if your doc did put fill in get him to take it out! Also try really hard to get the barium swallow done good call bonilulu

good luck. Let us know how you are coming along.

I would ask if he primed your band during surgery (added fill). If he did, you may not be able to tolerate. I would have it removed until swelling goes down from surgery.

If you have no fill, and can't keep liquids down, that is a problem. By "food" I am assuming you mean liquids since you are only a few days post op.

I would call your surgeon again. You need to be hydrated!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
