Really glad to see a mens forum. There are so many more women than men on these forums! Anyway,,I am considering getting banded. Two years ago I went through the insurance requirments and backed out in the last month. Lost 80lbs on my own then gained it all back.

The worst part for me is sweating! When I gain the weight back I sweat like crazy. Man its embarrassing as hell. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes. Me! Before my surgery I was hot and sweating all the time regardless of the temp. I was too hot at home. In my bed. At work outside. Name it. I was sweating there. I could not find a deidorant that worked. It was awful.

This last few weeks I have actually been cold!!

Thank you for addressing this issue. I'm laying on my Hammock in my backyard and appreciating the various posts here on LBT. However, this is the first post I've seen so far (been on here for a week) that is discussing profuse sweating. For years I've been drenched and it doesn't matter where or what I'm doing. It's beyond embarrassing to me especially when out in public and (thank goodness I'm not in food service:). Granted I have multiple health issues that could contribute to this symptom, but it's even baffled most of my dozens of physicians too. This past year we experimented changing meds and getting off a few has made a difference. However, i still experience it even while doing something as simple as the dishes :( I'm hoping that once I get banded and recovered that I'll be able to do more

Okay, so I wasn't finished "chicken-pecking"on my phone here and my dogs just came up and bumped the hammock and my message simply sent itself? :)

Anyway, I'm curious to see if this thread develops as others (Pre-Op + Post-Op) Bandsters input is also greatly appreciated. I'm very hopeful for a less drenched future! :)

I have always been the one at work who is always hot and sweaty. I never wear long sleeves or jackets, even in the winter. I am the first to put the air conditioner on at work and as soon as I do all of the "skinny b*****s"start complaining about it while they are there in there skimpy next to nothing outfits.

Well, I will say that I have lost nearly thirty pounds and am feeling the difference already. We have had some really hot days here in Jersey already and I must say that it was nice to not be as hot and as sweaty as I would have before. Hopefully it keeps getting better.

I have lost over 70 pounds and I do feel a little less "insulated" than I used to. The true test will be when July and August hit. But to be honest I have always been hot natured and sweated even when I weighed 175 pounds.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
