How many grams of Protein does your preop shake have in it? I have been using Herbalife b/c it tastes better, but it only has 9 grams per shake. I don't think I am getting enough protein.

That is not very much.

My powder has 22 and I add it to skim milk which has 8 so I have 30 grams.

I have one every morning and it gets my day started with a good amount of Protein.

If you like premixed, the Premier Protein that is advertised on here is good and has 30 grams.

I use 1.25 scoops of Jillian Micheals and that gives me 22 plus 3 for milk (only use a little) so about 130 cal/25 protein/7 carbs

I use Optimum Nutrition and it has 24g (I think) I know it's up there, and use 1 1/2 scoops, so right off the bat I get 36g every morning. And they have tons of flavors but you can't. BEat chocolate! LOL

My Protein Powder is 24 grams of Protein for 120 calories. If you make it with fat free milk you're adding about another 8 grams for 90 calories. Sounds to me like your current product does not have enough protein.

I use an unflavored Protein mix (bought at gnc) and Water with crystal light (tropical punch). It tastes like a smoothie. 125 calories, 24 grams of protein.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
