Wait And See Or Get Unfilled?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I just had my 4th fill yesterday brining my total up to 7ccs in an 11 cc band.

I felt a bit restriction before my fill, but after a hot drink I found I am able to eat a lot and I got hungry quickly when I ate less. So I went for a fill.

I feel like ****, that constant stuck feeling and sipping Water and clear drinks super sloooow. I think I only drank one cup of liquids today.

I am stressed, my car broke down and is costing me a lot to fix I am missioning around and my dad is sick. Could it just be stress? Should I wait it out and maybe this feeling will go away? Has that ever happened to anyone?

Or should I suck it up and go get an unfill?

So you were feeling the same as I was then it got better?

I sure hope that happens with me... Fills are expensive and a long drive out..

I am trying some hot bouillon now, comes up n down, hope it stays down eventually :)

I would say if you are on the liquid diet for after fills and you are having problems, you should suck it up and get some taken out. I wouldn't want to add food to that mix.

If you are already eating normal food, you should do liquids for a couple days because fills can cause swelling and the stomach needs time to settle.

I would say that you wait it out for a day or two if you can. Try getting in as much Fluid as possible.

I just had a fill last week.

I went from 7cc to 7.5cc in my 11c band. I am SUPER tight. The first few days were just like what you're experiencing. I am now able to eat mushy foods and some solids as long as I chew chew chew. Even that doesn't work sometimes and I start sliming and feeling like I may be stuck. I just give it time and it eventually goes through.

I like being tight like this. I'm eating about 800-900 calories per day. I feel SO full after just a half a cup of food. It's amazing. I feel that as long as I am able to get in my calories without getting stuck, not throwing up or having nighttime coughs, i'm good.

I have finally hit MY OWN GREEN ZONE!

If you get to the point where you cannot take in any fluid, call your dr asap or go to the er.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Personally... I'd go for an unfill.

I would be lost without my band and would hate to jepordize a slip by being over full. (just my 2 cents).

Some people do adjust after a couple of days, so take it slow. Good Luck.

do any of you have acid reflux when you're too tight? do you believe that constant acid reflux is a sign of being too tight?

Looks like everyone has a different opinion. None better or worse, just different perspectives. Yes, stress DOES tighten your band. I would continue sipping and give it a day or two. If you don't get relief, call your doc.

acid reflux is a sign of too tight.

Last time I had acid reflux for a week then it was gone...this time it's not necessarily everyday, depends what I eat! Stress and pb'ing does tighten/swell you.

Thanks everyone for your input. I hope today goes better because I am seriously really thirsty! And I have a massive Migraine now..

My doc is available today in a few hours, so If I still can't drink properly I will go. I can't live without Water, I live in a really hot country!

Since you just had the fill, you may still be swollen. My surgeon says 2 days Clear Liquids and 2 days full liquids. Sip Water and clear liquids, try warm water or unrefridgerated to make it go down better. Cold liqids sometimes are slow to go down because they shock us. Stress will casue tightness, too. Take cae, if you still have problems today or tomorrow, cal for a slight unfill. Best wishes, Karen

One hour before I was leaving for the doc I found myself able to drink, so I had a cup of Water, some bouillon and two spoons of honey. I feel SO much better.

I decided not to go today and wait it out now that I can drink. I really don't want an unfill, i am not doing very well with my weight loss so i really need this fill to whip me into shape.

Thanks everyone for all your inputs and help.

Water tastes so yum :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
