Have been banded since March 29th. I went for my first fill 3 weeks ago and they wouldn't give it to me since I was getting food stuck. I had my first fill of 1 cc making me at 3.5 in my 10 cc band. Here is the problem......I ate 2 street tacos last night and felt like I ate 10 seriously. I got so nauseated but no PB or vomiting. I'm wondering when I get that way am I stretching my pouch or do you only do that when you vomit? I haven't experience any of this and have no freaking clue what sliming is. I have lost 23 pounds and gain 1 -2 here and there. I feel depressed and think I need someone who can help me.......there are soooo many questions. Does anyone want to be a mentor or participates in a support group in the Dallas area that you can refer me to? I have got to get it together soon for several reasons but one main one is so I can be a good example for my daughter who is having her surgery next week.

How old is your daughter? Why can't she take responsibility for her own health and wellness?

I usually get all my questions answered on here. I had a BAD reaction to an enchalada last week so I have been scared to eat too much. I have been depressed since my surgery 4/11/12. I am slowly working through it though.

I am in Heartland about 30 miles east of Dallas

RunningScared,

Wanting to set a good example for your child is a good thing not a bad thing.

Sholitxmom,

I am sorry I do not live in your area but hang in there. We have just started this journey and it is a slow process.

I have heard several people get depressed after Lap Band surgery.

Have you asked your doctor about support groups? My doctor has a list of some in our area.

Good luck to you and your daughter.

Hi there,

If it helps at all, Pre banding I could eat ten tacos with ease. With each fill I eat a bit less. If you feel to full with two tacos then only eat one.

It takes a whole to re program the brain from what you used to eat - to what you are now comfortable eating.

Three fills ago I could eat six tacos for dinner and was still hungry. Now I can only eat one without feeling like I ate ten. It took a few meals to get this fact into my mind. My brain says I need more food but my body says nope

enough is enough. My body always wins, period.

Your just adjusting, enjoy your restriction!!!!

Good luck

Lana

Thank you guys your comments.......it really made me look at some thing differently. @runningscared - obviously you don't have any children. She is definitely in charge of her health. I'm just saying I want to be here for her as a support system like everyone should have and I can't do that right now if I don't have it together. I think you read too much into comments.

Sholit, Hi. I don't have any children but I know where you are comming from. My mom came to stay with me post op. On day 13 I was so tired of canned broth I strained some chicken noodle Soup. One lone piece of finely chopped cooked/canned carrot ended up in my cup (Really truely by accident). I mushed it between my tongue and the roof of my mouth. HEAVEN. I made the mistake of telling my mother "WHAT! Should you have done that! Should we call the doctor!"

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
