I am new to this sight and I am seeking support. I was banded on 5/9/12 and I am doing well, though a little sore. Perhaps the two most annoying aches I have are the pain on my right hand where the IV was put in and the pain under my left breast (rib cage). Other than that, i have been keeping everything down. I think I might need some restriction so i am going for my first fill on 5/22. Did anyone else experience this? Please feel free to share!

Hey there! I was banded on 5/10 and I'm still having pain on my left side due to the port being sewed in around that area. I can't wait til the pain goes away. I've just been icing it a lot and trying not to bend down or twist much. Wow, a first fill already, that seems soon but that's awesome that you already know how your body is reacting to the band. My first fill isn't until June 13th. I did great on the clear liquid part of the post op diet and now i'm kinda having trouble getting enough fluids and Protein down. Also, my incisions are larger than I expected for sure. How do your incisions look?

Hi. My incisions are not that big and i know that once the bandages are all off, I can use some coco butter lotion to remove the scars. My skin is pretty good at healing scars. My surgeon said that your skin type is definitely a factor in how well your scars will heal. I am also having trouble getting enough fluids and Proteins but that is mainly because I am afraid of the band rejecting it. I haven't had any problems so far and everything seems to be going down well so hopefully that remains the same. I am happy to say that I am moving a lot and i just weighed myself and I have already lost 13pounds post-op! I am excited and I will begin to work out next week Tuesday after I meet with my surgeon!

That's amazing! :) Congrats! I haven't weighed myself yet. I'm kind of afraid because I still feel super bloated. haha

Haha! I know what you mean. Im still bloated as well. I won't get too happy with the weighing so I don't get disappointed! LOL. What have you been eating? I have had applesauce, low fat yogurt, chicken broth, Protein Shakes with blended bananas, hot Cereal and various forms of chicken (mostly blended with legumes) for my Protein. I want to get a little creative and I am seeking more ideas and recipes. I am on the "apple sauce texture foods" post-op diet for 1 more week and then I can start eating soft foods. What about you?

I've been eating pretty much those same things as well and that will be until 5/21. Sometimes I blend a progresso Soup and it's easy and pretty tasty, but i like soup, oh and i love to add that japanese hot sauce (sriracha or however you spell it haha ??) to all of my Soups and broths, makes it a little more enjoyable. I've been wanting to make some healthy refried Beans so I'll let you know how that goes if i try it. Oh and i've been struggling a little to get my Protein so today i added 1 scoop of Protein Powder to my chocolate malto-meal and it wasn't bad either. I definitely want some savory foods. haha

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
