Carbonated Drinks???

Recommended Posts

I am a little different I guess. I do drink diet sodas and have not had any problems. I am in the green zone as well.

Shoot me now, but Coca Cola is my weakness. I drink it probably once every other day. If there's no ice, it makes me really gassy. I have to bite some of the carbonation out in my mouth. However, if it's on ice, it helps Water down the carbonation and makes it really good!

Hasn't affected my band so far, and last time the Dr. checked (had another surgery), my band was A-OK.

I think it may depend on the person. I'm not doing too shabby. Lost 109 so far!

That will definitely change. You have no restriction yet. Don't get used to it and make sure you're careful when you do get fills. I don't want you to be shocked if it activates a launch sequence. :P

From the understanding I got from my dr about carbonated drinks was. It not about having problems drinking it, it's over time ( 3 to 5 years ) the band might corrode.. It doesn't mean it will just that you have a higher % that it will if you drink a lot of carbonated drinks..

I'm not allowed to have carbonation for a year but all I was told is that it it can cause gas pain. After a year if I want to try it they said to let it sit out for awhile to get a lot of the fizz out. But since I haven't had it in over a month, I don't really have cravings for it anymore. I WAS drinking at least one Mello Yello or Red Bull a day... so glad not to be getting that much sugar in anymore. Now all I drink is Water and surprisingly I'm satisfied with it. If I want a little change I drink water with MIO in it.

A lady in my support group told a funny story. Her husband got a huge promotion and all the muckie mucks got together and took them out for a big fancy dinner. She was post op a couple of months. Anyway, she thought to Celebrate she'd have a beer. So they were all sitting there and she took a couple of sips of her beer and "EXPLODED" all over the table. It irrupted like a volcano! She said it easily goes down as the most humilitating moment of her life!

I think everyone reacts differently. I've never had that kind of problem!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
