Is It Normal To Go Three Weeks With No Weight Loss?!

Recommended Posts

I haven't lost weight in almost three weeks, do I automatically mean I need a fill?

How long do you go between eating? If you feel hungry in less than 4 hours after eating, I'd say you need a fill. Call and talk to your surgeon.

It's generally 3&1/2-4&1/2 hours, small portions but I'm still not losing.

You should probably call your doctor or nutritionist, maybe they can give you more information or suggestions. The only thing I can think of is that you need an adjustment or that you are working out and gaining muscle which can cause weight gain or no change at all.

I was stuck at 225 for over a month - then finally this week the scale started moving. I'm finally at 222 now - hope the weight loss continues!

You could try upping your exercise as you may have reached a plateau. Hang in there.

I would loose in streaks. I would get a fill and then loose a good 5 to 6 lbs and then it would stall for a few weeks and then I would loose a couple of more really slowly and then I would be ready for a fill again. I would just keep up with keeping your calories at around 1200 and switch up your exercise a little if you want to. I would go in every 6 weeks for a fill no matter what. I would get just a little booster. When I got down to about 20 lbs to go, I got fills every two or three months. I havent had a fill since feburary.

Everybody is different but I know I generally lose for about 2 weeks, round 12 lbs, then maintain for around 2-3 weeks and repeat. I've lost 117 lbs and my one year was April 6th. Your body has to adjust to weight loss :)

I have played with the same pound for the past 2 weeks...frustrating. But I am eating right, not hungry and just started exercising. I get about 400-500 calories a day. I just keep hoping that something will give and the weight will start moving.

I usually stall and then lose all at once until I hit the green zone. Now that I'm here its been pretty consistent.

I was 189-187 for almost 3 months then I started watching my carb intake and Protein I started eating around 60-70g protein and 100g or less of carbs and now I'm at 185 in just a week and half so I would make sure I was getting high protein and low carbs! See if that helps!

Yes, it is frustrating. I sometimes think I need a fill and then I start losing again. I lose in spurts as well. The last fill I got was in November 2011 and I have lost about 25lbs since then. So it is slow but steady. The most important thing to remember is to eat at least 1200 calories and exercise. It will come off. At least I'm not gaining.... That's how I see it. Good luck everyone

You may not be losing because your calories are so low

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
