Two Lovers, Trying To Meet, But Something Stands In The Way...

I cannot eat eggs of anykind. No meat ckn beef or pork. No bread of anykind. No melted chz. An so on. Im still trying to learn what i can not eat.

Brandi, how was your fish tonight? I tried making the lemon sole recipe that I pasted in your post and it came out so badly that I had to throw it away... Maybe my filets were too thick or something, but I don't know how anyone makes that without burning the butter...

If fish is a well tolerated band food I'm going to have to start experimenting. Sad to say, I mostly prepare red meat or chicken in our house. I caught a clip on YouTube by BandedWendy of her baking some jumbo shrimp. It's not a soft mushy food but maybe in a few weeks it's something we could try. It looked super easy.

Don't try a dense fish at first, like swordfish. I do pretty well with tilapia, I've gotten stuck on cod. Surprisingly, I can eat shrimp just fine. Remember small bites and chew well...especially when you are trying a new food.

Brandi,

Hello. It's sounds to me like your band is too tight. What are you eating for Protein? No eggs, or chicken? My doctor says if I can't eat 3 oz of solid Protein I am too tight. I eat chicken twice a day every day. I am at restriction so I can't understand why you have some many foods you can't eat. Does your doctor know you can't eat these things? Having a too tight band will eventually lead to you fallin back on high calorie soft foods or liquids. The band is not meant to stop you from eating solid foods. On the contrary it works best with solids. They keep you full the longest.

I get excited when I can't eat everything on my plate and I leave some of it. It means that I have learnt to stop when I have had enough. Now, if I could only just learn to serve up smaller portions.....

but my dogs don't mind getting my scraps. I mentioned to my surgeon last visit that I was leaving food on my plate and he was very pleased. Not sure how to tell my Mum, though. LOL

I've not been banded yet - but i went shopping for some really pretty smaller plates so that when i do get to eat, the plate won't look so darn empty. don't know if that will work or not yet....we shall see. hope to be banded in August 2012.

I want to finish my eggs!!!!!!!

I'm sure this is the first of MANY times I'm going to be frustrated about not being able to eat something, but it's a big wake-up call suddenly experience what it means to not be able to eat. I sort of want to cry... Just had 2 sunny-side up eggs and a little potato and I got about 3/4 through and feel this intense tightness in my ribcage. I'm sure it means I'm full. But it's really really upsetting to see those 3 last bites of egg sitting on the plate, wanting to be eaten, and know that if I go there something bad is going to happen. I poured Water on them, so I wouldn't be tempted, but I'm still upset... :-(

HI Sasha, Is the reason why you couldn't finish your eggs is because you just came of a liquid diet? And your stomach got "smaller" not because you got a fill right? I went to the follow up appointment yesterday and he approved me to go to mushie foods-he said anything that doesn't require a knife, i can eat. I thought my "normal" appetite would come back, but notice i get fuller faster, I had 1 cup of Soup and half a mashed sweet potato, and that filled me up even felt uncomfortable fullness, I don't have a fill yet, so its just my regular stomach. Don't know if that makes sense?

I have had my band for 2 years and can not eat scrambled eggs' date=' they will not stay down. I can eat fried and poached carefully and have no trouble with hard boiled. One of my favourite things is hard boiled eggs smooshed (is that a word?) up with cottage cheese and finely diced spring onions. For you -without the onions at this stage i would think. Good luck and enjoy the results of not being able to eat those last few mouthfuls.[/quote']

Hmmm eggs and cottage cheese...intresting, I will have to try it. Love cottage cheese and eggs.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
