So I will call my surgeon in the morning. I was banded on Feb 28 and was feeling great. Lost 19lbs. I was feeling hungry after like 3 hrs. But when I ate I felt full fast. So the band was doing what I want and need it to do. Then last week I went in for my first fill (last Wednesday). She took all the saline out and it was just under 5ccs, then she added it plus 1 cc back in. Since then I felt like crap every time I drink or eat. My stomach hurts, my back hurt, even my sternum hurts. I feel this way with water! Is this a too tight feeling? I did get what I guess is stuck yesterday in ham. This is the second time I tried ham and it is not good for me. It did cause me to throw up yesterday. And now those back, sternum, and stomach feeling are worse.

I want her to take the 1cc out. I was doing great before it!

yes, I agree...you probably didnt need that fill or maybe just a tiny part of a cc...my last fill was 0.3cc and it took off my last 15 pounds in a snap...

when you are close to your sweet spot the smallest amount will make a huge difference. my surgeon really listens to me when i tell how much i think i need to be at good restriction. she may need only to take out .5cc so that you will have gotten .5cc's. best wishes and i hope you get relief soon i know how being too tight feels..not a picnic at all!

You're too tight. I'm going through the same thing right now, been about a week. Have been on liquids for 2 days now. I kept waking up everyday hoping that the pain would be gone...nope! So my alarm is set and I will be at my drs office as soon as they open for an unfill. You should probably do the same. It will only get worse! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I am going in for an unfill in about an hour. I should have listened to my gut and not gotten the fill at all! I was doing great before it!

Hopefully I will feel the same as last week when a little is taken out!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
