Three Weeks Out Still With Port Pain?

Recommended Posts

I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I'm almost back to normal with the exception of bad bloating and Constipation - on mushy food. Also, every once in awhile. Will get a sharp pain at the port site. Is this normal?

I was banded the 19th and still have pain in the port site especially after exercising. I have also read several others that were banded about the same time experiencing the same thing....so I guess its still healing in there.

Whinniewho- I can eat about 4oz of protein/ 4oz of a salad/ and Maybe 2 oz of a carb..for dinner.....lunch is smaller about 4oz Protein and I'm good to go....I just drink Protein for Breakfast.

i hurt about that long also. i remember calling a friend asking her if it was normal and she said yes. she also explained to me to think about how much they had to cut through and it was a pretty big opening and they proably had to shove that port through that hold and stitch it back up LOL... so then i understood hahaha!!! it will get better.. mine hurts now every once in a while if i bump it etc!!!

I was banded March 13th and I did have anything pain with the port area until 2 weeks post op now I get sore and sharps pains every once in a while. I can feel the port and feels like its placed in there correctly and I do not have any bruising. I think its just going to take some time to heal hopefully that comes soon. I am now 4 weeks post op in a couple of days and still getting the soreness and sharp pains.

I also got banded on the 21st (3 weeks out) and am having port pain. My surgeon just called to check on me and I asked him about it and he assured me it is normal because it is the only place they put sutures in the facia. So i guess we're all doing fine! Just gotta hang in there and enjoy the weight loss

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
