Sorry Penni! *laughs*

Well the last two days out were good for me all except for forgetting to take my Effexor! Man I was sick today. Dizzy, sick to my stomach, tired.. blech. When I realized I was two days behind, I figured that's what was wrong with me. I took one and slept a while and feel much better now.

I will walk a minimum of 1/2 mile every day. (None today. But 2 miles yesterday should count for four days in advance, right? *grins*)

I will drink 64 oz. of Water every day. (Iced tea counts doesn't it? If so, then yep, 64oz)

I will write down every bite I put in my mouth - quantity, calories, Protein. (Done)

I will take on one achievable cleaning project in my house per day. (Did a lot of important phone call type stuff today.)

I will NOT sit on my arse all day doing nothing but fighting head hunger out of pure boredom! (No problem, too naseaus to eat anyway)

Today the meal plan went soooooooooooo far out the window it ain't even funny. First I had an appt today for a mammogram. EWWW!! Yeah they got squashed today. Second there is this darling Italian restaurant close to the Breast Center so John and I had a little date today. So I had a chicken Lasagna with Mushroom and Tomato cream sauce. Yes I know that was very bad but so worth it for the date. LOL!!

Then paid for it later with a stress headache. Actually I was fighting it off all day. I was stressed big time over the mammogram. I had a spot on my Right breast 6 months ago and this was a follow up appt. I got the all clear though so then the stress hit me. I had to take a min and just relax.

Then I got home and heard from a really good friend of ours that her father is on his death bed and not expected to last through next week. So that brought up alot of emotions I thought were long gone. My father passed away almost 11 years ago now but this brings up all thoses emotions again.

MORE STRESS!!! So I ate McDonald's tonight. Yes shame on me, but ya know what I allowed myself this day. Tomorrow will be better.

Hugs to everyone facing the head demons and surviving one more day.

Today's plan accomplishment:

I will follow my Nutrisystem meal plans. (HEHEHE OOPS!! Way off track today. Long story. See above. SIGH!!)

I will exercise for a minimum of 20 min a day 4 days a week. (Nope none today)

I will lose at least 1 lb a week. ( Will see come Friday how this is going )

I will drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day. (Susan yes Iced Tea, coffee, and any non caloric drink counts. That is the only way I get mine in. I still need 20 oz for today.)

Positive reinforcement mantras:

I cannot continue to eat unhealthy and expect to lose weight.

I cannot continue to not exercise and expect to lose weight.

I cannot continue to buy pills, buy exercise equip, etc then not use them and expect to lose weight.

I cannot continue to feel sorry for myself because I do not have the band anymore.

I will walk a minimum of 1/2 mile every day. (None yet, but it's not over till the fat lady sleeps!)

I will drink 64 oz. of Water every day. (I'm drinking a lot of iced tea with lemon, and about half my usual Water. I hope this is ok.)

I will write down every bite I put in my mouth - quantity, calories, Protein. (Done - This is really helping.)

I will take on one achievable project in my house per day. (It's Saturday and Dawg is home. He is my project for today. Done! *grins*)

I will NOT sit on my arse all day doing nothing but fighting head hunger out of pure boredom! (Haven't done too bad, although I was really feeling like snacking today so I popped a 100 calorie bag of Pop Secret and it filled me up nicely.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Penni.. how did the rest of your day go? Are you going to go to sleep with a smile of success on your lips, or is there something evil on your lips tonight? LOL

I noticed a few of you started posting with us then faded away.. HarleyNana, LaMadam, DOC, Kellie, Cheri, JustWaiting, Paula, JQPublic, Cynthia... how are you all doing?

So far so good today. I was occupied most of the day with a painting project for my new grandson. My daughter wants me to paint 5 pictures to match his blanket for his bed. So I got those done today. I will post pictures of the painting when they are dry. I had a blast with that.

Yesterday: I could have sworn I did this. Oh dear, I'm getting old! LOL

I will walk a minimum of 1/2 mile every day. (None for two days. That stops now!)

I will drink 64 oz. of Water every day. (I've been slacking on Water. Too much tea. I think its the splenda that Im liking. Water first then tea from now on.)

I will write down every bite I put in my mouth - quantity, calories, Protein. (Done)

I will take on one achievable project in my house per day. (Did kitchen and laundry.)

I will NOT sit on my arse all day doing nothing but fighting head hunger out of pure boredom! (Ate less than I have in a long time, but was bored, bored, bored!)

Today:

I will walk a minimum of 1/2 mile every day. (I will, I will, I will! - I didn't, I didn't.)

I will drink 64 oz. of water every day. (So far so good.)

I will write down every bite I put in my mouth - quantity, calories, Protein. (Yup, keeping up on this.)

I will take on one achievable project in my house per day. (I think my project today will be going shopping for gym clothes. - Er, didn't move all day. I've been in a funk.)

I will NOT sit on my arse all day doing nothing but fighting head hunger out of pure boredom! (It's after 11am and I'm bored stiff. Hopefully, I'll get up the energy to go shopping. - *sighs* Bored. Didn't go.)

Penni - I'd love to see the pics you painted! Keeping busy is a definite help in this battle, isn't it?

Woke up to snow this morning - blue skies over a white world, beautiful!

6:30pm - The snow is mostly gone.

I will exercise for a minimum of 20 min a day 4 days a week. (30 min today plus I cleaned up my office space and threw out things from 2001. That is also an accomplishment.)

I will lose at least 1 lb a week. (I have lost a 1/2 pound as of this morning. I go see Dr. Billy tomorrow. YIKES!! He is gonna holler at me so bad. LOL!!!! )

I will drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day. (I got mine in today.)

Keeping busy is a definite must in this struggle. IT keeps the mind and fingers occupied. LOL!!!

I will walk a minimum of 1/2 mile every day. (I did! Thank you to all my LBT buddies that kicked my butt today.)

I will drink 64 oz. of Water every day. (So far so good.)

I will write down every bite I put in my mouth - quantity, calories, Protein. (Yup, keeping up on this.)

I will take on one achievable project in my house per day. (Nothing yet, but walking gave me energy. I think I'll go do the dusting. - Well I faffed around too long. I have to eat now and then go get cleaned up for tonights support meeting. Dusting tomorrow!)

I will NOT sit on my arse all day doing nothing but fighting head hunger out of pure boredom! (Bored all morning, but not much hunger today. I think I've been too lethargic to care about eating! LOL)

I will follow my Nutrisystem meal plans. (OK stayed on track. This is a huge accomplishment for me.)

I will exercise for a minimum of 20 min a day 4 days a week. (None today. Been running all day long doing chores. Got my nails done and pedicure. MMM MMM nice pampering. Then had a Band Doctor appt. I weighed 251 on his scales. That shows an 11 lb gain since unbanding. He wasn't all that upset with me. He did say that he expects me to lose that much by my next visit which is in two months. That is certainly doable since I am back on the Nutrisystem.)

I will lose at least 1 lb a week. (No loss today.)

I will drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day. (Got it in.)

Positive reinforcement mantras:

I will continue to eat healthy and hope to lose weight.

I will continue to exercise and hope to lose weight.

I will continue to be proud of myself with all the accomplishments to date.

I will exercise for a minimum of 20 min a day 4 days a week. (John and I went walking hand in hand around our block today. We haven't done that in ages. It was fun. We had a two fold reason for the walk. To exercise, spend time together, and to go be nosey with the filming going on one block over. OK that is three reasons. The show "NUMB3RS" was filming a scene. They will be there till 10pm tonight. They sent out notices to all the neighbors for a couple of blocks that there will be internal rapid gunfire heard. LOL!! That way no one will call the cops. Too funny. They are filming all the time in our neighborhood. Kinda exciting. I saw one of the stars from that show that is why I new who was filming. Anyway got in my exercise for the day.)

I will lose at least 1 lb a week. (Wait and see for next week.)

I will drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day. (Got it in.)

Here are the paintings I was working on for my grandson. I love the way they turned out. They are 10 inches x 10 inches.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
