April Bandsters!

Hey Ladies and Gents!

Having my Surgery done April 4th. Starting my Pre op diet tomorrow. They said Protein shake for Breakfast, small low fat/sugar lunch, Protein Shake for dinner until surgery. Any suggestions for the low fat/sugar lunch suggestions?

Im heading down to LA to get it done. They will arrange for me to be driven to and from there as I live in San Jose, Ca. My hubby is going to come with me for support. Hopefully they will give me enought pain meds for the ride home. Heh Woot! I'll be a Hollywood starlet by next summer haha!

So who else is getting banded in April? I could use a band-buddy for my journey!

Congrats and good luck!

Went to the Dr. today to get second approval for surgery, due to my BP being high at my pre-op appointment. BP was normal, but doc wants a stress test and an EKG! Going tomorrow for those, then praying everything is OK and approval is back before next Thursday when surgery is scheduled...So freaking close, and now this!!

OAN - Good luck to everyone who was banded this week...I'm keeping you all in my prayers!

So I woke up, no lapband. I had a tumor on my spleen so they removed it instead. Both tumor and spleen Been puking all day and in recovery. Doesn't look malignant but will know in a couple days. Bummed and in pain!

So sorry to hear that idahomom. Did they say when you can have lapband?

Thanks everyone, I'm doing okay. Better than earlier but still in pain. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

So sorry about your surgery. I know that you are disappointed, but the tumor is gone and hopefully you will be able to get the band at a later time. All the best in your recovery.

I was devastated and worried about $ as a self payor! But found out hospital is preferred otherwise for me and should be covered. Doc said as soon as I am healed 3 weeks or so. So I guess I might be a may bandster! :(

Man it hurts so much to sit up or lay down in bed. I feel the muscles pull right where the port is. I'm having to take pain meds every 4 hours. Walking does help so much. No pressure on the incisions. Only able to take tiny sips at a time or I feel wayyy to full. Any suggestions besides heating pad for my stomach pain? Still no regrets!

Hi all, was banded yesterday. Have bad gas pains, any recomendations.. I have been walking but still the pain is there I Wish I could just burp. Not taking pain meds it not that bad but it's very bothersome and my back has been killing me.. Slept with an heat pad on. Still doesn't feel to great..

I took some chewable gas x. The gas was gone the next day. Walking helps so much. It justs hurts to sit down and get up

Yes, take ur pain meds!!! Lol! That's what they are there for! I had horrible gas pains!! Take 3 gas x strips and some pain meds walk around...if you have stairs slowly go up and down the stairs, that helped alot. I also took two pillows and laid my tummy on top of them with my bottom facing up, it helped me pass gas! But seriously the meds help alot

hi from down under im April 3 how do i join?

how do i make my weight loss ticker ?

Day 3 postop and things are doing much better. I haven't needed pain meds in 24 hours, I still have "something" that is a bit painful from time to time. perhaps gas pain, almost feels like too much pressure.

I hope everyone else that has been banded is doing ok and for those of you that haven't all I can say is it isn't the end of the world :) The day of was shockingly quick and easy.

Now for the journey to begin. As everyone has said the band isn't a magic and we all have alot of life changes to make. One of the first tests will be going to a family event this weekend. There will be sooo much junk food around, thankfully its still so close to postop that I can't eat any of it, however future events will be interesting.
