  1. I can do!!!! Lapband is a tool. You still have to do the work. This site will give you support but you need someone close to you to encourage you. I love your list because it sounds like mine. I was banded on April 2. Preop started 3/19 and I'm down 35 pounds. There was one week I didn't lose. But I love the way I'm looking. I have about 100 still to lose but I will make it. Good luck!
  2. I can do bread but later in the day and it has to be toasted a little. Flour Tortillas not so much. They get too sticky but corn go down find. I love my bread too.
  3. Got my first fill last Monday. I bled bad (had to get a second band aid) after I bled on my pants. But a week later I still have a bruise that doesn't seem to be healing. It doesn't hurt and was wondering if I should worry about it. Thx
  4. I'm down 26 pounds, preop 16.5. Surgery April 2.
  5. I was new a month ago so welcome. You will find alot of I formation and support here. I was banded on April 2. Pre op diet since 3/19. I have lost 23.5 pounds as of last Sunday. I only weigh on Sunday. Good luck on your journey.
  6. When I applied for banding the first time 3 years ago, insurance turned me down because I didn't have 3 of their 5 diseases. Even though 4 of the dieseases were in my family. I applied again in July last yast year still with no diseases and was accepted but had to go through nutrient classes for 6 months. I will do this for me and my family. I'm 43 with hubby and 2 teenage boys. I wanted to go hiking with my boys like I use to. I wanted to grow old with my husband. I want to play with my grand kids. These are my top reasons for doing this. Oh and to NOT get even 1 of their 5 diseases. Lol
  7. But if it helps control gulping. I don't seem to have that problem
  8. I do and they do help with the stomach gas but the gas pains in my neck not so much. But the heating pad has been my friend.
  9. With Pre op diet for 2 weeks and 4 days since surgery; 20 pounds.
  10. The plication is a new pleating system used with the band. It is still in trial phase.
  11. Ft worth banded yesterday 4/2. Doing ok. Gas pains are the worst.
  12. I just got banded today. It was over before you know it and you will do fine. My dr told me my liver was perfect so the preop diet did what is was suppose to do.
  13. I would try different brands and flavors. You can get unflavored and add your favorite cooking spice. Then is even SF syrups you can get. I add my protein to puddings too. Most health store have single serving packets you can try. Good luck
  14. I'm in Pre op and surgery is 4/2. My first few days were ok but now I seem dehydrated. I'm drinking a gallon of water along with my 2 shakes. I also noticed this morning, I'm losing my hair. Is this normal or should I call the dr?
  15. Good luck on your journey. My surgery date is 4/2 but I started my prep last may. I didn't loose much weight but since my Pre op I have 14 pounds. I'm looking forward to my new life.
  16. Oh my goodness! I love this post. My surgery is 4/2. I can so relate but the 5k is my goal. We have one on thanksgiving day I plan to walk it. But in February I want to run the 5k. My son loves to run and he wants me to run with him. Also my other son wants me to ride the batman ride at six flags with him. I love life and I want to be able to enjoy it with my children and their children (when they have them in 10 years or so). I'm going to post my list on the frig and my bathroom mirror.
  17. Ok so they idea is to starve us before the schedule or thin out the ones who really don't want to do? I'm on day 2 and I'm starving and have no energy.
