I do not think it is right for anyone to tell others what medication to take for certain symptoms.Remember that someone may have a pre-existing condition that may have adverse effect with certain medicine. It is best to suggest for them to see their doctor.

No one has that right and that is why we should make suggestions in regards to what have worked for us. We should never explicitly tell anyone to go and purchase any pills, potion ect. Over the counter drugs are just as harmful. Always refer them to their doctors, that is included in the follow up or after surgery care. I know many of you will not agree, but I read it so many times on here.

I'm 60 years old....I have been on more diets than I can count or remember over the past 35 years, and everyone of them failed.
I just don't have the self dicipline and will power.
The band does all that for me mow. I don't need to count calories, measure serving sizes, etc, anymore.
The band controls what, when, and how much I eat for me.
I do not have food cravings...let alone any real interest in food at all for that matter.
All I need to do is "Listen" to the signals the band are sending me, and make the wise food choices, concentrate on Protein so I do not look a holocaust survivor, and drink my Water.
VERY EASY!!!!! And IT"S NOT A DIET!!!!!!

i had my first appt wednesday and met with the bariatrics nurse practitioner. i was asking her if they've seen a decline in bands thanks to sleeve. she said yes and went on to tell me that the surgeons there don't like bands because they arent seeing results like with the other two options of rny and sleeve. she was telling me that she wants to make sure i understand i wont be losing 100lbs with the band. huh? i have heard of several people losing a good deal of weight (100+) by really working the band. i'm frustrated at the attitudes people seem to have toward lapband. should i go ahead and get over it? does anyone have a positive attitude toward the band?

    Hey smmrsue,
Our bodies do a lot of weird stuff the first weeks after post-op. Don't worry about the 1 pound. It's just Water weight. If your like I was, you probably are still drinking a lot of broh and Soups and they can be high in sodium. Plus our bodies are focused on healing at this stage....so the gain isn't anything to worry about. I'm a little scale obsessed right now, so I actually woke up and had to go to the bathroon like at 4:30 am and had to step on the scale while I was there. I was very dissappointed to see I had gained 2 pound from the previous morning....I was so upset!! I had such a hard time getting back to sleep. When I got back up at 8 am the first thing did was head back to the scales... and sure enough the 2 pounds were gone.....now I know I had to pee....but not 2 punds worth!!! haha
If you are following the rules, Protein first and watching your calories...its all good and now that you are adding exercise....you are doing a wonderful job!! keep up the great work
Anyway...try to stay off the scale.....it will drive you crazy (like me) and you will be weighing yourself in the middle of the night!!haha

Good 30 g protien shake at market cooler in veggie isle costs same as just the burger but more flavor protien and v&m plus keeps u satisfied 2-3 hours if drank moderately. 50 lbs to go thanks for support!

My port site was tender to touch for about 6 weeks, It is even with the surface of my skin, about the size of a quarter,
and if it moved, I could easily tell. I you have some reason to think it has moved, you could see your doctor's office
or wait until your next fill. The way ports are attached today, it's rare for them to shift position. I hope your's is OK.

Tomorrow morning, drink a cup of hot tea or coffee and see if that doesn't
loosen things a bit. Try to stay on liquids for a few days. It sounds like
your stoma is swollen and just needs to heal for a little while. Quite often,
after a fill, the stoma gets swollen and won't let anything down for a few days.
If you don't feel better in a few days, you probably should see your doctor.
