I don't have a lot of information and you may have seen some of her posts recently where she talked about some of her serious complications.

Shirley was a wonderful friend and very supportive. She was a very active member on this site and helped me so much in my journey.

She is now up in heaven looking down on us...

Is she the one that recently had a major complication and almost died?

Wow our thoughts and prayers go out to her family!

So Sad...sorry to hear that. Being so new here, I've had interaction on when she posted recently to say she regretted getting the band because she was now having serious complications with it.

Isn't she the one that had a slipped band and the hospital wouldn't do anything until an appt. on May 1st...because they weren't a bariatric hospital or something like that? This is so sad...do they know the cause and if it was related to the slip?

bluetigereyes, yes she is the one!

I was thinking about her yesterday. wondering why I had not seen any posts from her. thank you for letting us know this so very sad news.

She was very nice and very supportive especially to new people.

Praying for peace for the family. She was definitely appreciated on this forum.

Wow, how tragic. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

OMG my thoughts and prayers are with her. This really scares me now since I just had my surgery three weeks ago but I never knew about the 50/50 chance of the band slipping.
