April Bandsters!

Hey Ladies and Gents!

Having my Surgery done April 4th. Starting my Pre op diet tomorrow. They said Protein shake for Breakfast, small low fat/sugar lunch, Protein Shake for dinner until surgery. Any suggestions for the low fat/sugar lunch suggestions?

Im heading down to LA to get it done. They will arrange for me to be driven to and from there as I live in San Jose, Ca. My hubby is going to come with me for support. Hopefully they will give me enought pain meds for the ride home. Heh Woot! I'll be a Hollywood starlet by next summer haha!

So who else is getting banded in April? I could use a band-buddy for my journey!

I was banded 10 hours ago. Overall it was ok, had a bit PITA time at the start as it took 4 shot to get the IV in and by the tird time was getting a bit dizzy / not feeling too well. As of now all I really am having an issue with is what I assume is gas pain and a really tight abdomen. but not the end of the world I haven't needed much meds.

Goo luck everyone, I hope you all do well. Now for the next stage in life / learning how to use this new tool.

Congratulations, socialdad!! Can't wait to be on your side of the world. The anticipation is killing me, but I'm just ready to get this over with!!!

Just wanted to congratulate you guys & wish you luck! I'm a year post-op on the 19th and am down 50 pounds. Best wishes!! Listen to your docs...

Good morning everyone. Well I am officially band as of 9am Monday morning. It was indeed an experience I will remember. I arrived at the hospital around 5:47am and the procedure started at 7:30am. My husband stated that the surgeon talked with him at 9am and stated I was doing well and heading to recovery. By 11:30am, I was in my room and walking around by 3pm. I was in alot of pain at the port site with minimum to no gas pain anywhere. The staff informed me that I had the best surgeon anyone could ask for. That night there was alot of testing and make sure i sipped my water and ate ice chips. They also made me work on my breathing. My blood pressure was 95/50 with a heart rate of 43, that was due to me being overly relaxed. Of course as the night went one, it increased to 112/64 with a heart rate of 53. On yesterday, before going home the bariatric coordinator took for an hour to explain everything to me. Trust me, I feel so blessed that each individual at the hospital and my surgeon staff truly equipped me with the tools i need to succedd. Our monthly milestones is 10 pounds a month.

To everyone, thank you for what you have done for me. I am just relaxing at home for the next two weeks before heading back to work on the 16th.

great to hear from all as to their experiences with the lab band immediately post op...hope to hear more from those banded ...two weeks from today for me..I am traveling to Las Vegas as I will have my very best friend out there to assist me...I will fly out on the 11th to spend some time with her and not have the trip to be all about lap band...
